most likely OP wouldn't have forgotten the thread if villain had a bluff

OP has already said that he folded.

Ok, don't you guys think that calling here actually might be good?

-Villain opened every SB and increased his sizing with AK
-Villain donked the turn(which I don't think 100% of regs would do with a value hand and a lot of more fishy players would do with a weaker hand)
-It's BVB. He's more likely to be fooling around compared to other scenarios.
-Not super many value combos in his range

Against a good thinking reg I would fold this, no questions asked.
But in this hand... I would prob go ahead and call

Pretty close because so few value hands make sense if he's half decent but he probably shows up with a lot of Ax combos so I'd probably fold.

Yo guys, what do you call when the parents have 4 kids at once?

Some people 4b fold AJo/ATo too,

Plus I felt like the player was playing LAG (opening 5/5 sb).

I weighted his value range to:
100% AQo, AJs, ATs, A7s, A5s (7combos)
50% A9s, A8s, A6s, A4s, A3s, A2s, AJo, ATo (6 combos)
1 combo of 88

So we'd need 7 bluff combos for call to be break even w the price were getting
FWIW i folded.
It's hard to make too much deductions from 100% SB-open. Already 50% from BB to that open makes it better move than folding. So from that we cannot deduct AJo and ATo off so much.

I would look how should it look like if he had something else in the beginning and make an estimate about his bluffing combos there.

At SB he opens 1225 combos, will defend maybe 200-300 out of them against your raise.

Check-call @ flop makes it practically impossible for good player to float with absolute trash. He might call with Ax, Middle pair or draw. Only draws are your possible bluff hands later in the hand as you will loose to other hands.

The draws are 86 + 64 which he will most likely fold preflop and then some straigth draws. There are 45 FD-combos possible including trash combos like 2c9c, so he might have at flop 10-15 strongest FD-combos.

If we assume that he donks 50% of his bluff hands at turn and 50% Jam at river we will end up with only 25% from these maximum FD-combos. This would leave him to have around 4 bluff combos so this would be a clear pot for folding.

This would change only if he is maniac enough to float OOP with worse hands which I suspect most winning players won't do.

You have i completely uncapped range that consists of the majority of Ax combo. If it is a bluff then you just have make sure you around in a later pot when he tries to commit suicide in that one

Call because its Bovada

Havent read results, but im folding this river pretty quickly and confidently. Given your read that hes a winning player, we can't expect him to go crazy here with a bluff, given that we can easily have quads here ourself, and even if we don't, we have tons of pairs that are going to hard-pressed to fold.
10-04-2013 , 08:07 PM
Another thought-- not enough players will try to rep quads for this fold ever to be exploitable.

I had a similar(ish) spot in a deep stacked tournament the other day. Flopped a set of 8s on 8Tx. I bet, villain called. Turn I c/c a T and river is a 3rd ten. I check and end up folding when he slightly more than pots river. I think I had a lot more reason to call though than here.
