8 definitely counts as showdown value. You beat NFDs, otherwise you’re just trying to get sets or good Qx to fold, which I think is a losing proposition

Let's assume for arguments sake that you're right, do i really expect a missed NFD to check behind if I check? Am i c/c this river?

I do think it's notable that villain can have all the sets here, and might even have some 5's. Being oop sucks.

People are generally more cowardly than we give them credit for IMO. I think worse hands check behind occasionally. I’m x/f’ing this river. I would bluff with something with less showdown value, we should have plenty of worse diamond combos here

Him just minraising the flop and clicking 1/2 ott kind of makes him look like a fish

Turn is alright but how often is this guy really folding a Q otr

I don't know if I'm on the right track here, but I think I'd just call the turn (we're getting good odds) and then have a check-raise range on a lot of rivers. Stack sizes are kind of awkward for a turn raise. A bit too large to shove, but too small to raise big enough if we want to leave behind a sizable bet for the river. You kind of have to shove on a lot of rivers as played imo. I also think it's easier to balance a turn call, river check-raise. For example, it's kind of hard to rep a 5 here. I guess you're raising the turn with A5 and 75? What else? If you call turn you could have 65 or 55 as well. Same thing if river is a 5 then we can have 86, 87, maybe even 88.
