Villian is stuck like 2 buyins, 3 bets something stupid like 30%, check raises flops a bit too frequently, and generally plays like your standard 2/4 regfish who just watched their favorite deucescracked video. I wasnt very comfortable betting flop and facing a c/r on this type of a board so I decide to check back. No idea what this turn bet means as he has never overbet like this. There was a recent pot 5 minutes before this where I flopped top pair in a 3bet pot which turned into 3rd pair and called his river bluff where he bet 108 into a ~180ish pot on a 447QJ board. Maybe he is tilting from that and trying to overbet and get me to fold the marginal hand I am repping this time? What is he representing here himself?

he s probably just tilting... so call turn and most river bets <psb i think

and i dont think he wants rep anything special with the overbet, he just wants to throw you off ur game which obv. worked well

If he is tilting then don't let him own you here to get back the momentum. I'm sure you can find a better spot. If you call you have to call down and that will be your whole stack on the line.

Every time I call this and call river I see 37o and hate myself, but I'm still not convinced call/call is wrong.

As for what he's trying to rep...I guess 33/77/A3/A7

Also, if he c/r too much shouldn't we be excited to bet this and call his c/r and get it in on turn? I mean, if he 3b 30% he is 3betting a ton of better Ax hands and most of these guys aren't gonna go nutzo and think he can stack a worse Ax with A9/T.

I feel like the vast majority of the time that I'm against this sort of a bet the dude checks river and shows up with air. That being said, calling does put you into an awkward spot if he does something similar on the river.

I'm a station, I call.

I would bet this flop and if he raises I'm licking my lips and calling him down. A c/r from him is a bluff like 90%+ of the time on this board. He's 3betting pretty much all of the hands that beats you here with the exception of Q7s if he's calling with that PF. That's 3 combos. Maybe he's not 3betting A7 so that's another 9 combos.

I would say if I had air here, I'm 3betting flop or I'm bet/calling flop and raising almost any turn. Probably the latter works better on a rainbow board.

call/reevaluate river.

I think his overbet means that you are not repping an ace after checking the flop, and he's a maniac about to do his darndest to get you to fold whatever you have. I would call turn, and call most river bets.

I call and reevaluate river (I think I'm inclined to call a lot of rivers). You're representing a weak made hand who wants to see a cheap showdown, so why would he bet that much with a huge hand?
Also, most hands that beat you are 3betting preflop, soh I'm more then happy to bet/call this flop hoping to get it in on the turn.

what is your cbet %? and if its low, then how often is he leading turn and how often are you taking stabs on the turn after you check behind?

I usually have a very high cbet%, so when I take this line it is for value, but thats if he folds to a lot of cbets or on later streets. If hes super aggro, I'm definitely betting the flop. I mean, he has a huge 3bet% so we can rule out a lot of hands that beat us and make his range very narrow.

I usually call/call here though...don't really feel great about it though...it sounds like you have some nice momentum going on and it may not necessarily be worth giving up.

I would also never fold river unless it is another stupid overbet
