10NL Zoom. Re-stealing with A8s 10NL Zoom. Re-stealing with A8s

I have zero hands on villain.

What do you think about a re-steal with A8s here against an unknown?

What kind of range is good to re-steal with against an unknown? Better to just stick to raising for value? Also what range for flatting against unknowns?

I thought flop was a fold in game but a range of 10s+ makes it a breakeven call.

Is that an ok range to put him on? Adding KQdd makes it a slightly +ev call.

    Restealing with A8s against a Villain you have zero hands on is a pretty bad idea. Every time he does anything other than fold, you're stuck OOP with no idea of his range, as you've demonstrated here.

    Is this his range?

    www.pokerstrategy.com
    Board: Ts2d4d
    Equity Win Tie
    MP2 25.56% 25.56% 0.00% { Ad8d }
    MP3 74.44% 74.44% 0.00% { TT, 44, 22 }

    Or is this his range?

    www.pokerstrategy.com
    Board: Ts2d4d
    Equity Win Tie
    MP2 44.31% 44.16% 0.15% { Ad8d }
    MP3 55.69% 55.54% 0.15% { TT-88, 44, 22, AKs, ATs, A4s, KTs, QTs, JTs, T8s+, KdQd, KdJd, QdJd, 9d8d, 8d7d, 7d6d, 6d5d }

    Makes a pretty big difference which one you choose because one's a call and one's a fold - and I think you'll be doing well to get anyone here to give you a definitive answer either way.

    Pre is close but probably fine. You can flat though. Bigger on the flop, then call.

    Im not sure why we would do anything else other than call pre. A8s plays perfectly well against most BTN opening ranges and you should show a profit with it if anywhere near competant post flop.

    Hmm a few different answers Maybe best to just play straightforward though.
    Raising TT+,AJs+,KQs,AQo+?
    Flat with 99-77,ATs-A2s,KJs,QJs,JTs,AJo-ATo,KQo?
    What about flatting with lower pairs and SC's here? We're oop with low implied odds but should have good fold equity to semi-bluff on a decent board with SC's.

    As already said.

    Re-steal is ok.

    Bet a bigger C-bet. Your 1/2 pot Cbet seems weak and could lead to vilain jamming with medium pairs, like 99, 88, 77 obv. any 10. A bigger Cbet will put all this hand in a defensive mode.

    Finally, I would probably call the all-in. Drawing to the nut flush as his range include a lot of flush draws that you have dominated or 10x that you have like 50% equity against. In the worse case like A10 or better, you still have decent equity.
