Know next to nothing about vill 35/12 over only 17 hands. In the end I called out of interest/confusion. Don't think I've experienced this line of action many times before tell me what you think, thanks.

I thinks he had a flush draw. Leads out with good equity, checks the turn when his equity plummets, but isn't good enough to double barrel to get folds and set the river price or fold when they aren't getting the right price, then they lead out on the river to make sure you don't check back as their aren't very many hands you will bet on the river.

FWIW I'd raise the flop to get value out of any flush draws, 65, and 55-88. Bet the turn but then unfortunately the river sucks and we probably have to fold to a good sized bet.

I agree with kcb about the flop (I'd raise to at least $1.70). As played I'd have bet out $1.40-$1.55 on the turn. I don't see what you beat on the river aside from a pair of 4's or 6's, which seems unlikely given the fact that you raised pf.

you have to raise that flop and bet big again on the turn to make the draws pay.
the river definitely sucks, especially if you dont know if villain is the type that bets scarecards but that bet really looks like a valuebet to me, id expect him to bet his bluffs bigger but thats generally tough to say without specific reads...

so what did he have? =)

stranglylucid I don't understand your bit about him db'ing and setting the river price/getting the right price... care to expand.

Thanks for all the advice, I guess I didn't raise the flop as I felt generally I was just folding out worse... debatable whether I could get all the hands mentioned to call a 3/4pot raise.

He had T9cc lol complete air
