Hey all,

Quick question about bvb play. I had this hand happen in my session just now and was kind of lost.

Pre - I didn't want to 3b and get 4b by villain (25/20/7% 3bet) and have to ditch my hand.

Flop - Thought for sure my hand was good. Thought when he c/c he had some sort of weak pair or over cards and didn't believe me. Most monsters I think would bet this wet flop.

Turn - turn x/r? Uh oh, this is usually strength. A few hands got there. Now there is a back door flush possibility. My plan was to go with this turn x/r and see what he did on the river.

River - Any a hi flush draws now beat me, backdoor flush and gutshots got there. Clear fold? What kind of hands do you guys see villain doing this with? There are TONS of hands that beat me but what takes this line?

Your problem starts with the fact that you slow played a big hand heads up. Why didnt you come back at him and not give him the chance to bluff you? I know your thinking about winning a bigger pot but his raise could mean an A or K and be correct for him in which case you want to make him pay a little to try and out flop you. Reraise pf and bet into him on the flop if he calls the flop bet even bigger on the turn to continue to control the action. And if he reraises the turn I think you should push on him because what could he have that beats you, 67, A2, 34 or 35. If your going to get outplayed post flop because you're not that experienced then shove to his pf raise and see what happens.

I didn't really know much about villain at the time of this hand. I'm assuming my plan is to 3b/fold to 4b? What if I 3b, get flatted and this flop comes? I just don't feel comfortable getting it in with a TAG w/ TT

If he flats your 3bet pre then you are ahead (he would probably 4bet JJ+, AK) and he is likely to have a smaller PP or AQ.
