He could have anything but if you check and he fires away, you have no idea where you stand. I probably fire a blocker, say $2.50, and fold if he comes in with a big raise.

Against a passive player I would (or at least try to) bet fold. Against an aggressive player I would check call.

block bet 1.5 and fold to a raise. he'll have a lot of two pair hands here and call and the only hand that can raise you is a straight.

he won't be raising here as a bluff

I would have made a turn bet of $2 plus. But I like the idea of a 2-3 blocking bet afterwards.
