yes checking the flop is really bad with spade draw and 3 straight cards. i think betting close to pot on flop and turn to set up river shove, and another thing is this is 65 bb deep and people who dont buyin full are really bad so this guy could have anything such as A4 with one spade

after flopping a set on a drawy board bet pot on the flop, I would also bet over pot on the turn, if he stays around until the river bet / fold?? But you have to make him pay to draw.

OBV bet flop and turn but if I'm called on two streets I think I check behind on river as we dont really get a call from worse hands at this point. Any hand that

1. didnt improve to a straight
2. we beat
3. but is strong enough to put money on three streets

would have bet or raised on previous streets (like lower sets, two pair, overpair)

Played poorly, Only time I am checking set is if i'm oop knowing the guy will fire at me so i can c/r him.

fire fire fire. You missed a lot of value by checking flop. Guessing he had 89 here, but most times villain will not show a straight here.
