As you can see, very few hands on villain, none seen at showdown. First time he's flatted an open in this hand.

MP: $13.29 (VPIP: 15.26, PFR: 11.65, 3Bet Preflop: 6.10, Hands: 253)

UTG: $4.50 (VPIP: 7.14, PFR: 7.14, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 14)
Hero (UTG+1): $10.00

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has J A

fold, Hero raises to $0.30, fold, fold, CO calls $0.30, fold, fold, fold

PF it may be close to open for some, but I'm fine with this being near bottom of my open UTG1 range.

Flop: ($0.75, 2 players) K J 9
Hero bets $0.40, CO calls $0.40

In review (and in posting it here) I think this flop was probably bad to lead out into given the wetness. X/C better here? At the time I thought to myself that villain is likely to call all his draws so there's a wide range of hands we get value from and we should be charging. In review, also think that if I'm betting I should have bet larger.

Turn: ($1.55, 2 players) J
Hero bets $0.90, CO calls $0.90

Given his flat PF and OTF, at this point I'm feeling better about my relative hand strength and feel that checking on this wet board potentially leaves me in a worse spot than betting it. I kept the reduced bet size % to control and block.

River: ($3.35, 2 players) 8
Hero checks, CO bets $5.00, Hero calls $5.00

Given the action, why so much villain? I had no problem snapping this off, figuring villain isn't likely to have anything and/or turning lesser made hand into bluff. Why would he make such a large over bet if he was looking to get called for value with any hands that beat me (straights/flushes). Let me know if I'm way off on my assessment.

Personally, I'm folding pre (especially off-suit) unless there are fish in the blinds. Here, I'm happy to let it go.

As played, I'm leading river maybe around $1.50, to get value from Kx and folding to a large raise. I don't see why he can't have Axdd, KJ, 99 and JJ here so, so I think I just fold.

Pre is whatever. Your flop and turn sizing should be bigger, and I'd rather b/f river.

I think you are making the wrong assumptions on villain. I know only 20 hands, but a VPIP/PFR of 25/25+ is qiute a lot, granted, he may just be running kinda hot. But when you said about your turn sizing, "I kept the reduced bet size % to control and block." Not sure what you mean, but I think we can bet so much bigger and get him to call with Kx.

OTR, again, villain might not be thinking about bet sizing and price elasticity. He may just think, I have flush, I bet big. I feel river is fold. He doesn't have a boat, cos he probably would have raised 99 OTF. So he either called down with a flush draw and hit, or decided Kx here is worth a bet.

I also think river is a small bet/f, to get value from Kx.

I think pre is ok, ok so there are no obvious fish behind but there are a lot of tight players behind who are going to fold a lot.

The flop is tricky as we know little about the villain. Against some people this could be a check/call because its a board we expect people could bluff raise us on and dont want to have to fold our equity. On the other hand been so wet there are still a few hands that call us that we beat, stuff like QJ/JT etc that could logically be in the villains calling range.

Turn sizing probably should be bigger like has been said, still worse hands that are going to call here.

I think the river is a bet/fold. I dont want a hand like KQ to check behind when it would call a bet, I also dont think hands like QJ/JT are now going to raise but they will certainly call a bet. For that reason I think we can comfortably fold if the villain raises our bet. I dont like a check/call because i dont expect many villains to be bluffing when they bet this board on the river.
