Havent been at the table long - only ~30 hands on each player. MP is playing 23/23 and CO is playing 54/11/30 - a loose player who isn't that great.

Anyway, heres my question. I pick up AJ on the btn. How should I play this hand because, for some reason, all options seem bad.

Folding is out of the question I think. Good hand and good position.

Calling seems quite passive, I'm only ever really happy about playing this hand when I hit a J high flop. I think if I see a A high flop and withstand heavy pressure I could be pushed off thinking I'm up against AQ/AK.

Raising is quite dangerous too - I only get called my better hands.

    BB: $4 (40 bb)
    UTG: $5.50 (55 bb)
    MP: $31.51 (315.1 bb)
    CO: $13.26 (132.6 bb)
    Hero (BTN): $10.16 (101.6 bb)
    SB: $10.07 (100.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with J A
UTG calls $0.10, MP raises to $0.45, CO calls $0.45, Hero...?

This maybe a basic problem but I would love some advice.

    Thanks

not sure why you say you only get called by better hands when you raise. that might be true vs. mp but its not true vs. CO.

So you think a squeeze would be the best option here then?

    Thanks for the replies

I called in the end btw...

AJo you can probably 3bet/iso the fish and the iso'er might come along with worse as well. But AJs I think plays better multiway and there is more implied odds. either option is fine

maybe. who is in the blinds is important too. the more likely they are to call with bad hands and play bad postflop, the more you'd be inclined to call. the more likely they are to raise pf or call with just profitable hands and play well postflop, the more inclined you'd be to raise.

You have position with a good hand. 3 betting the.iso'r would pick up the moniez a lot of the time, but I'd rather play this hand in position with the fish still in the pot. I would take into account the MP's post flop agro factor though.

You have position, calling and then playing poker postflop is fine.

Without position I'd be more inclined to 3bet-semibluff.
