10NL 99 vs overcards, a question about double barrelling 10NL 99 vs overcards, a question about double barrelling

Villain calls a lot of Cbets so I would expect his range on the turn to still be pretty wide.

Would you double barrel here? I thought the jack is quite a bad card for any of his flush draw or lower pair range.

I didn't bet too big because I wanted lower pairs to continue, but then in doing so I guess I allow weaker Kx, Jx hands to come along too which I dont want.

Looking back I am starting to feel like it possibly wasn't a great spot to double barrel. But I would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks guys.

Personally, I prefer a double barrel bluff, largely in 2 scenario's:
1. When I pick up (and can pick up) a decent amount of backdoor equity ott
2. When a scare card comes ott

But for both, I'll plan my decision to double barrel based on what the flop is and on what will come on the turn.

For example, say we have AQ and the flop comes K52. In that spot (depending on villain, positions etc etc) I may decide to double-barrel any , any J, T, 3 or 4 - which all give us backdoor equity.

But the main point is, I'll make that decision to barrel various Turn cards before I c-bet the flop.

Not sure about this , probably would want SD%, and turn stats, cb vs missed etc. I think you need to make up your mind early in the hand if he always calls cbets then either have to barrel or why even bother first cbet if you are going to fold ott all the time which is want he wants you to do.

Obv barreling the above Scoop but we have a lot more equity then 99 and i don't think we need to be balanced in this spot or anything.

turn is definitely a c/f imo. his range contains way too much Kx and even Jxhh. the only obvious advantage betting has that i can see is to fold out TT. his fds are all strong enough to call the turn and we're ****ed on the river and worse 1-pair hands are likely to let you get to showdown.

i think the flop play is more interesting. i still struggle with these spots, especially without the 9h.
