10NL 99 Too aggro w/ too marginal a hand? 10NL 99 Too aggro w/ too marginal a hand?

Hi all. First post here but hopefully will start doing it daily-ish to try to improve. I've played for years but never really started to take it seriously until recently. Anyway, for this hand I'm just wondering if my line was a little too aggressive? I'm still mostly oblivious to bet sizing fundamentals so I'd like to start nailing that down now that I'm pretty comfortable with my preflop hand selection. Anyway, OTTH and thanks for any input...

PokerStars - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: $9.75
BB: $12.15
CO: $21.68
Hero (BTN): $14.25

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has 9 9

CO raises to $0.30, Hero calls $0.30, SB calls $0.25, fold

Flop: ($1.00, 3 players) 8 6 2
SB bets $0.70, CO calls $0.70, Hero raises to $2.50, fold, CO calls $1.80

Turn: ($6.70, 2 players) 2
CO checks, Hero bets $6.37

Is this spewing? I'm trying to avoid spots where I'm getting too much of my stack in with marginal hands because I think that's a leak, so when I reviewed this one it stuck out to me. In hindsight I think just calling the flop might be better, but I also don't want to be too passive.

4-handed this is definitely good enough to 3b OTB. Your line is aggressive for sure, I wouldnt always play the hand like this but its fine. You really dont mind if they both fold OTF since your hand is kinda vulnerable still. Turn bet looks a little too big, you have what 11.50 behind so even a halfpot bet sets up a river jam nicely.

you're overplaying your hand.

SB donk looks pretty strong. Co can have some combos of fd, oesds, A8s, but he can also have TT-AA (30 combos). I would prefer to call otf... I don't expect to deny much equity here, since the overcards with a flushdraw that SB&CO have aren't going to fold.

AP turn I'm looking to x back and x/c most rivers. If I were to bet, I'd go ike 2/3...with your sizing you're not getting called by anything worse and are essentially turning a hand with good SD value into a bluff. But even with whatever size you're value owning yourself here.

CO can have all the sets and better overpairs that he might just call the donk with, so you shouldnt go too crazy here.

Yeah this is your worst "value" hand that you don't even know if it's actual value. I would treat it as a bluffcatcher and just call the flop and safe turns and likely fold to a triple-barrel, unless I think villains are spew-monkeys. 3bet pre.
