I did because a lot of players love to call the flop and fold a lot to 2nd barrels, and if I check the turn he can easily push me off the hand..

Well it worked out for you. all you beat is Ax that didn't hit and he's never folding a K but sure why not, not that bad. just don't over do it

Double barrelling is fine here. I like betting a little less on the turn though. Somewhere around $1.20 or half pot would have worked the same and cost you less if he c/r you off you're hand.

Without stats I will check/fold the turn most of the time. I don't see a K folding here. The only hands that are gonna fold are overpairs to your 88.
2nd barrelling here isn't all that bad, but betting half pot is the way to go if you do it.
