i would be in, also there was some discussion in 200nl one about moving # hands up per round, like first 2 rounds 3k semis 4k final 5k or something like that. I think is worth thinking about.

This could easily be a regular thing though. When you think about it, FTP could easily do something to arrange these "cash game tournaments." The amount of rake they make from it is sick.

Anyway, I think the first post should include the clear set of rules, start date, max number of entrants (16 or 32), and then take it form there. Obv already a lot of interest which is great. I'm definitely in.

5 buy-in entry is good if top 3 pay (16 man), pay top 5 for 32 man.

Also think rules should state 3 table minimum. I wouldn't want to be locked into playing 3k hands over only 1 or 2 tbls, and I know 4 tbls is too many for some people. 3 minimum is good I think.

There was also some discussion about forfeiting and this should be totally acceptable. I mean if jungleman12 enters and owns my ass for 10 buy-ins in the first 500 hands, why should I be forced to play 3k hands with him? Anyway, add something to the rules too, but I really don't think there's anyway you can force someone to play the whole 3k hands.

i think its better to keep this one to a 16 man tbh, then maybe branch out to a 32 man next time when all rules have been tested before etc etc!

Proposed rules below. Note that I changed it so that you can only split when deep if both players agree beforehand. I think allowing this as standard will cause anyone with a big lead to split and nit it up towards the end of a match thus taking too much out of the game.

Obviously discuss and when agreed this needs posting in the first post.

2+2 Cash Tournament Rules

• 16 or 32 entrants
• $500 buy-in to be escrowed to a nominated tournament director
• Brackets drawn at random after all entrants confirmed and paid using http://challonge.com/

• Each round will be 3,000 hands of 100NL HU completed within a maximum of 1 week from the round starting.
• Higher stakes may be played if both players agree.
• A minimum of 3 tables must be played unless both players agree to play more or less.
• Players must start each hand with a minimum of 100bb and have auto top-up enabled.
• Table splitting when deep is only allowed if both players agree before the match.
• A player may forfeit the match at any time during the game and as such will be eliminated from the tournament.
• All hands must be played on Full Tilt Poker unless both players agree to player on another site.
• The winner of the match is the player who has won the most, or in the case that both players are down due to rake, then the player who has lost the least will progress to the next round.
• Players are advised to record all hands in HEM or PT3 and in the case of discrepancies HH's will be forwarded to the tournament director for adjudication.
• Players must endeavor to complete each round within the allocated time frame; failure to do so may result in elimination from the tournament.
• The tournament director reserves the right to make decisions based on all the information available to him.

Payout for 16 player tournament:

1st: $4000
2nd: $2400
3rd: $1600

Also what do you think about making it a 500+5 buyin, with the $5 a fee for the escrow/tournament director? Finally the only thing that would concern me is ensuring that the draw is done fairly. I'm not saying Mersanary would do it, but what's to stop someone else in charge rigging the draw so that his 'friends' get the best match ups. Just some food for thought.

I dont think its a good idea to change the table splitting rule.
If someone absolutly dosnt like to play deeper he just can say break or whatever and the table will be splitted also.

i think it should stay like before with splitting is allowed if >200BB and if any one player wants it.

Start off with round robin. 6 groups of 4. Top of each group advance + best 2 runner ups advance to make quarter finals. Obv details of round robin can be discussed.

Probably. We're talking about 3 matches for each player in the round robin, maybe 2k hands each or something. Probably not gonna happen though.

I say merge this tourny with other stakes 100nl i.e participants can agree to play @ higher stakes than 100nl if they wish.

I've pmd mersenary bout helpin us with this! He wud like a cut tho which is fine for me like 10 or 15 dolla from each entry! Also I spose its cool to be able to play hugher if u want! Rly wud like to get this rollin in next few days if possible guys!

I mentioned to wyvo that I've got a lot of stuff running so would rather not do it out of the goodness of my heart, but would also feel bad charging a vig and think you can find someone who doesn't need one. Let me know if that's not the case, though.

Either one is fine. FJ Bourne volunteered to help organize the matches so lets just use him for both if he doesn't mind doing both. All players can send $500+ x amount to him. Lets try to start this by Monday August 23rd
