First hand. You've shark scoped your opponent and he has the fishbowl by his name.

You have 99 in position. You raise to 3x BB, he min raises you, you ???

Lets say you elect to call and the flop comes

K83 rainbow

he checks, you bet 3/4 the pot and he pot raises you. you ???

I'd call the min raise for set value only and fold on the flop. Most of the fish seem to think that the min raise = VALUETOWN.

I like the bet on flop but would fold to a raise.

shove preflop
even if i know the fish is thinking "valuetown" he's going to be thinking that with plenty of hands that i'm way ahead of, a few that i'm flipping with and fewer that i'm way behind with. he's calling with all of them.

Not saying shoving preflop is THAT bad, but not optimal. If he will call a very wide range than I assume you have a big edge later. Ya ya, blah blah blah, hourly rate not win rate, BUT we don't know he is calling a wide range. So vs a typical donk min raising w/ big hands we are shoving right into him. So vs kinda bad players shoving may not be profitable at all. Vs super bad players it is obv profitable but you are giving up a huge edge vs awful donks.

I've played a bunch of low stakes husngs on PS lately, and I find that a fair number of villains insta-min-reraise pf with a wide range of high-ish cards. This can be irritating if you are running bad and not hitting any flops, but in the long run I love playing against these guys. I would probably call here with 99 and think about shoving TT+.

I would fold to the flop c/r without much thought. I would consider checking behind, but b/f is probably better.

Can't agree on this either... You don't know you're opponent, and there's always a chance he has pocket pair higher than you...
Don't take too much risk and call the minraise for set value.

You might check his cards out by raising on the flop, if he reraises, get out !
