Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 10/20 Blinds (2 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB (t1520)
Hero (BB) (t1480)

Hero's M: 49.33

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, 10
SB bets t40, Hero calls t20

Flop: (t80) J, 2, 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets t60, Hero raises to t180, 1 fold

Total pot: t200
villain is unknown and this is the 2nd hand. is c/r the best line in such spots?
And if he pushes after our c/r, easy call? if he flats, and Q or A for example comes on the river, then it would be bet/fold...? It is really difficult for me to get much value from such spots espetially without having any information about the villain.

Should of just called. No reason to create a big pot in a marginal situation.

Really depends on the opponent in that situation. Because you're out of position, I'm probably raising more often than not there too. I think you took the right line for not having any history at all w villian and being oop, even if in the longrun your sacrificing a small amount of value c/r turn, if he does fire out again.

i probably just call and donk turn but raising isnt bad, you'll get way more value out of middle pair hands doing this (donking turn)

i think calling and raising are pretty close but this really isnt that marginal of a situation imo

do you have a balanced range here for c/ring the turn?

regardless, against an unknown there is no reason to inflate the pot OOP. afterall, how comfortable are you getting it in here for stacks? its unlikely he will often shove with worse since the board is rather dry so against an avg. opponent you aren't doing so good vs his shoving range and when he calls - what is your plan on brick rivers as well as AKQ rivers?

theres literally no reason to balance your ranges in 11 sngs, and its probably wayyy suboptimal

in the lower stakes i dont mind to do that, many villain will have no trouble calling there with a naked 3 so c/r will take control of the action. If he calls i believe you have the best hand there most of the time, dont slow down and bet the turn.

i think in the higher stakes its going to be hard for the villain to continue there without a hand so it play different.

Players at this level call too much. I play this about the same, though I suppose calling then donking the turn is fine. If he is on some kind of draw of has a mid PP or something like that, you can ck/raise the flop like you did, lead the turn, and probably get him to call both your bets.
