apparently posted in the wrong thread before. all 3 fantasy teams are projected to win.

two teams im leading my league in points right now
09-18-2011 , 03:42 PM
Just make sure that you don't actively root for them.
09-18-2011 , 04:04 PM
Unsurprisingly, I don't have Oakland-Buffalo available on TV here, but it's been quite the shootout.

Naturally, even if this means that the two teams are both just playing awful defense, it will be heralded as a great game. A game that ends 13-10 between two teams playing great defense and awful offense will generally be termed a bad, boring game.

"A late TD pass by Ryan Fitzpatrick capped a comeback from a 21-3 deficit against Oakland." -NFL.com

Game must have sucked.

No, you insinuated the the game might have looked better than it was because of the its high scoring. I quoted a good statement that summarizes the game and shows that it was a good game. I only watched the last 20 seconds of it, but I'm sure it was a great game considering the comeback aspect and the fact that the Bills are winning when they aren't expected to be.
09-18-2011 , 06:06 PM
1. Pretty sure the Bills were favored today and thus were expected to be winning today.
2. I was making a more general insinuation about how high-scoring games generally get given more love than low-scoring games because people don't judge bad defense harshly like they judge bad defense. It's fun to watch the scoreboard light up for smart fans and simpletons alike, but general quality-of-game assessments are skewed in favor of turning a blind eye to the fact that terrible defense can lead to 45-42 games just as much as great offense can.

Romo yanked with a rib injury. Probably gonna cost me this week unless Andre Johnson/Tolbert/Green-Ellis start going nuts in the 2nd half

CAM NEWTON GOAT
09-18-2011 , 06:21 PM
God I hope that I get to make a post like that about the Seahawks' top draft pick in a year. Sure appears that it will be a really high one.
09-18-2011 , 06:49 PM
Incidentally, if this total implosion by the Colts continues and they go on to 11+ losses this year...it's going to be hard to ever take Brady in the Brady vs. Manning debate. Lift Brady out with an injury and we saw that the Patriots were still a team that could win 11. Lift Manning out and suddenly the Colts look like they'll do well to win 4. Granted that Cassel was a better replacement lined up than the Colts' non-existent contingency plan, but Cassel isn't that great...I think the effect of season-ending injuries on the two speaks volumes about who has been the more elite QB.
09-18-2011 , 06:58 PM
you wouldnt believe how the patriots fans are trying to spin those facts

they basically say "manning didnt help his backups and wants them to fail because it makes him look good, while brady actively worked to develop players so they could step in"
09-18-2011 , 07:03 PM
That's pure craziness. I appreciate both guys, but the facts speak for themselves. It's clear to me that Belichick has elevated Brady, whereas Manning has elevated his own head coaches. Both have mostly played about as flawlessly as QBs can, but Brady is the centerpiece of a well-oiled machine run by someone else whereas Manning himself has clearly been the one running the Indianapolis machine for over a decade.

gonna win 2 this week, lose one.

none of my games were close.
arian foster FTL!!!

The main thing is that you didn't root for them to win.

Last edited by LKJ; 09-18-2011 at 07:40 PM. Reason: Except rooting for them abstractly, of course. That's okay.

lol 49ers

Romo came back and put me in the lead, I was up by 6 going into the Falcons game I had White he had Turner. Needless to say I lost, last drive Turner has like 70 yds and a TD.

In OT (was in the car, didn't see play) some idiot on Dallas gets caught at the 1 yard line on a 70+ yd pass. He takes it to the house, I win. Sigh. Fantasy FB swings.

In before LKJ berates me.
09-19-2011 , 10:59 AM
No berating since it would frustrate me too if playing, but that's why I don't play. Caring about the ultimately inconsequential cheapens the sport.

I do think that FF is fun, for what that's worth. Not even questioning the appeal.

Trade for cam newton while you can before the price becomes something along the lines of a top 5 RB and top 10 QB. Book 4000 passing, 28 TDs, 500 rushing, 10 TDs.
09-19-2011 , 11:05 AM
also i dont think Ive mentioned that georgia tech had 604 YARDS RUSHING ON 50 CARRIES this saturday

Last edited by dkgojackets; 09-19-2011 at 11:06 AM. Reason: to go along with 7 passes for 164 yards.

And this is why I never draft Seahawks to my team even when there are viable ones (there aren't this year except maybe Zach Miller). I don't trust my own objectivity.
