everyone thinks their rules are the best. i don't see how gentleman shots are gay. the only bad part about is is when u have douches that knock cans over or break the balls because they're trying to get the ball back while it's still live

when i first started playing i would get pretty tilted at people recycling the beer instead of drinking it when they lost. i learned i was in the wrong. i also hate people that try to act like you're less of a man for not using 3+ beers. college kids are broke and the last thing you want is everyone standing around bored because all the beer is gone

also explosion is absolutely the worst rule that is sometimes used. it takes away so much of the skill part of the game. but i like the rule if you're at some huge party with only one table that way the games keep moving.

which brings me to my next point. i rarely ever play pong at huge parties. the girls are in their own groups not paying attention to the game so it's just the real beer pong grinders playing. if there's not a lot of room and there's a lot of people balls get lost in the crowd, etc.

I pretty much agree with all of this.

What's the explosion rule though?

some ridiculous rule where if you both make the middle cup you remove the cup and every cup it's touching. it can remove up to 6 cups if done on the first turn and it's the easiest cup to make in the first place.

i'm pretty sure they use the rule at beach hut deli tournaments. i vow to never participate in those due to the douchebaggery in attendance. also by the time i'm 21 beer pong will be ridiculously dated.

it jumped the shark right around when my age group got introduced to it (HS class of 2008). it's in rap songs, there's t shirts at jcpennys for it, ping pong balls are now sold right on the beer aisle, and the fact that every time i go to foodsco and buy beer the old ladies always say "playing beer pong tonight i see " are making me start to hate everything about it. but it's a really solid party game that brings together total strangers.

Yea, sounds like a really stupid rule

We play the second a ball goes in a cup your remove it immediately and start drinking it, how standard is this (opposed to waiting for both members to shoot)
07-01-2010 , 10:22 PM
i prefer both players shoot then you remove cups. both players make different cups = balls back, both players make same cup = 3 cups total and balls back. i never argue house rules though so i've played a bunch of ways. the biggest arguments always come from death cup so if i make a cup and they forget to pull it i usually just tell them.

this is kind of random but i hate ppl that have only played one drinking game their whole life and act like it's impossible to have a good time drinking unless you're playing that game. idk if people can relate but i meet one of them usually every 2-3 weeks. i think most of them have only played kingscup and they act like it's the be all end all of drinking games and have no desire to try anything else.

As long as you do that, it's all good imo

I pretty much only play beer pong at my apartment. Usually if I'm going out I'll just socialize other ways and play card games and what not
07-01-2010 , 10:40 PM
Ya, I used to play @ parties and stuff. Now it's just kinda like another social option, if I kinda wanna do something, but don't feel like goin out and gettin all crazy, I might call some people and pong one out.

Wait, front cup counts for 2? That's the easiest one to hit -- or is that exactly the point? I mean I guess the goal is to get ****ed up.

Ill post a complete list of our houses beirut rules when i get to a computer. Def think its more fun than typical pong, ill take on any other bro 1 on 1 and usually win. Of course it takes me a while to adjust to shorter tables at other frats
07-02-2010 , 12:22 AM
I just have a ping pong table I use

9 ft
07-02-2010 , 12:32 AM
welp back to breakeven over last 150k hands
07-02-2010 , 01:11 AM
WOW today was the worst.

Got 12th in the 32k on FTP, AK<QQ for what would have been CL at the start of the FT.

Then on Stars in a 6max 22$ I get 7th to FT bubble, 1010<55 preflop.

love flipping for thousands and losing, jfc.

Also, just got the chicken 'wings' from Wendy's, anybody get these before? They were just nuggets like from their dollar menu smothered in sauce? I'm on life tilt.

• If two balls are made in the final cup, game over, no redemption
The rules I've always used. No behind the back shots is the only major difference I suppose.

I agree with you. I'm pretty well versed in drinking games and depending on the crown a particular one may be better.

I've really been into quarters lately. I don't know why, but its been a ton of fun.
