Quiet night for me too. Got drunk with friends last night, which was fun...tonight I called home and talked to the folks for an hour and a half to catch back up. Now I'll drink up and catch up on some DVR. I enjoy the quiet nights in.
02-20-2011 , 01:23 AM
Also I was beyond excited to find a couple of other guys in my class who share my taste in music. Being a country fan in this city has been beyond difficult. We just booked a redneck pilgrimage to Nashville in a couple of weeks to road trip down and check out Music Row one night and hit up the Opry the next.

I know how jealous LT5 is.

haha I'm Ripe with envy(<3 lkj)

But yeah most likely staying in tonight. Smoked/drank with my roommate while watching the NBA Slam Dunk contest and don't know much else goin on. So 2 quiet nights in a row for me, which feels pretty nice actually.

Wrong guy won. *Angry face*
02-20-2011 , 01:40 AM
haha yeah griffin def benefited from the stupid kia commercial and he was in his home town. But I would have liked to see the guy from the wizards win.
02-20-2011 , 01:43 AM
The NBA does not exist. Went out of business years ago.
02-20-2011 , 01:43 AM
Yup. Not really that impressive of a jump. Not saying I could do it... I'm 5'3... but still...
02-20-2011 , 01:46 AM
Not only is the NBA out of business, but my college team responded to being on the bubble by completely taking a **** today.

Miss half your ****ing free throws and lose by two to a **** team. Sick life.
02-20-2011 , 01:47 AM
Yeah it def wasn't. The three ball dunk was way sick.

haha I gotta say it'd be crazy if the NBA and NFL don't have a season next year. Imagine just hockey and college football lol
02-20-2011 , 01:50 AM
And college basketball, which is far better than the NBA anyway. Especially since the NBA doesn't exist, but even when it did, college was better.
02-20-2011 , 01:54 AM
True much better. Speaking of which only like 3-4 weeks till the tourney. CSU is on the bubble better watch out
02-20-2011 , 01:57 AM
70 degrees here today. So money. Love wearing shorts now that I have that tat lol

Staying in tonight as well. Anybody wanna gambol? skizzype imo
02-20-2011 , 01:59 AM
I haven't watched an NBA game since I was 9 or so. Thought that was just me..
02-20-2011 , 02:05 AM
I'm a former Sonics fan. Ever since David Stern bent us over, I haven't watched a full NBA game.
02-20-2011 , 02:10 AM
Da Bulls...

I think where I grew up it was against the law to not watch them.

Regarding Slam Dunk Contest:

Ibaka should of had two perfect scores...McGee should of had two perfect scores...griffin shouldnt of made final...The second ibaka dunk with the toy, the first run through i lost my mind, I thought he would just grab or it or something....Too bad he didnt make the dunk on the first time or he would of easily gotten a perfect score...

The elbow dunk in finals was very nice, the car dunk was a nice show but far from impressive, if he jumped and wen tin backwards than it would of been something to see.

Regarding other festivities:

I Picked the winners for the skills and 3 point contest which was fun..(Love me some Curry, although I had CP3 getting 2nd and he got last so meh)

3 point contest was actually nice, and the final round was interesting with pierce putting up a god score the jones ******** all over the celtics.

The shooting stars is always fun to see, wish they took the bitches out tho, they did nothing....Picked Texas to win and they obv donked it up in finals...
02-20-2011 , 07:31 AM
The dunk contest was awesome, I can't believe how many people on 2+2 are gigantic haters that seem incapable of just sitting back and enjoying something instead of going on the interwebz to argue about it (more directed at the SE thread about the dunk contest than here)
02-20-2011 , 08:00 AM
It was definately one of the first dunk contests in years where I wasn't sure of a clear favorite after the first round. There were so many with such a high degree of difficulty. If griffin had have been able to pull off what he was trying to do on his second dunk ( 360 after taking the pass off the side of the backboard) I don't think there'd be as much hate for the car dunk
02-20-2011 , 09:04 AM
Kenny Smith as the hype man was awesome. Half the reason I watch these things is just to listen to all the TNT guys (Kenny, Chuck, et al) talk ****.

LKJ iirc you're from Washington? Have you been to many concerts at The Gorge?
02-20-2011 , 09:55 AM
I've been to one concert at The Gorge, saw Keith Urban there in 2004. Great venue, always meant to go to more shows there, but it just didn't happen. Didn't help that it was on the opposite end of the state from where I lived. Couldn't just drive and see a show and drive back like I could to Seattle/Tacoma.

mcgee dunking on two hoops was awesome and the best of the night by far imo, next is derozans second with a slight bonus for getting it first try. Ibakas were both excellent. griffin may have had the bottom two from the first round and the car was so overrated (if thats just a three foot hurdle everyones like meh) but lolriggednba
