Can all law school graduates be hired by individual people to represent and defend them in court trials? basically what i'm asking is, "are all law school graduates considered lawyers after they graduate?" In fact, do you even have to graduate from "law school" to be a lawyer? obviously, not many would people hire you. but lets pretend a really, really smart person decided to represent himself in a difficult court case, and won. he might gain a positive reputation from this and get hired by more people. or do you need some sort of licsence. look, I know I'm gonna come off as a complete idiot to the more "informed" people, haha, but I was recently curious of this; but never cared about it before, so I never learned it.

If only there was a catch-all thread for law school questions. I think there is one, but its rarely on the front page.
