Ive got the option to do an exchange year at a UC as part of my degree in the UK.

Now basically I can put down three preferences for which UC I want to go to , however theyre not guaranteed.

Now I need some advice on which UCS are best to do a year at(from both academic and social point

), and if there are any UCs which are lol terrible and should be avoided at all costs.

OBV Berkeley for academics, saying any other is bull****. Don't know about social thing though

Go to Berkeley or UCLA.

Berkeley is the most interesting city, is right next to SF, has a huge international student community, is super welcoming of internationals and has by far the best academics.

UCLA is warm and sunny SoCal, located in a pretty nice part of LA and is easily the 2nd best in academics, and a pretty fun school too.

UCSD is like the most boring school on the planet, and everybody says UCSB is sick for partying but I never really liked the scene down there that much.

Those should really be the only 4 on your radar if you can pick and choose.

UCLA, UC Berkley, UC Santa Barbra.

UCLA - Los Angeles, great school, good city
Berkley - Pretty awesome, hippy people
Santa Barbra - Girls are 9's+, on the beach, IV

but yeah if your visiting, ucla is the best place to go by far.

Unless your french, then youd prolly prefer berkley.

San Diego (sry its just boring)
Santa Cruz (drugs and too many hippies even tho my best friend went there)

Davis too, and Irvine probably.

In fact, like stated, the only ones I'd consider are Berk, UCLA, UCSB.

Although, UCSD is located in a pretty nice area, it's so close to the beach.

go to UCLA. since you're coming from the Uk you will like the weather at LA the best. Berkeley is cool but not as good weather and more hippy ish. if you had to pick a 3rd probably irvine
