Was just looking through the betfair client, and you can buyin into 3 events as well as the ME:

Event 1- $3,000 NLHE- September 19th
Event 2- $10,000 Horse- September 22nd
Event 3- $10,000 PLO - September 24th
ME -$20,000 NLHE - They don't say the starting date, but presumably the 26th-28th.

This is a decent amount better than last year with the doubling of the horse buyin and the addition of a 3k NLHE event, other than that its basically the same.

Is that in US dollars or UK pounds?

Last year, the ME was 6 days (day 1a and 1b was at 3 separate casinos). The WSOP site lists the schedule as 9/19-10/1, so expect the Main Event to start on the 26th.

I'm a bit disappointed the HORSE is now $10K. I might have stretched to $5K. Still, I suppose it makes more sense for the people flying over, and the $3K should be donktastic.

Also, i've heard from someone with contact at Betfair that it is all at the Fifty casino this year

Where did you hear about any of this? It's not on the WSOP site or Betfair

The second annual World Series of Poker Europesm presented by Betfair.com has solidified its tournament schedule, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., owner and operator of the world's most prestigious poker tournaments announced today.

The 2008 World Series of Poker Europe Presented by Betfair.com (the WSOPE) will feature four bracelet tournaments, including a new addition, the £1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event that will open the tournament. The complete event schedule is as follows:

September 19th, 2008 - Event #1 - £1,500 – No-Limit Hold'em Day 1A (3-day event/2 opening days)

September 22nd, 2008 - Event #2 - £2,500 – H.O.R.S.E. (3-day event)

September 24th, 2008 - Event #3 - £5,000 – Pot Limit Omaha (3-day event)

September 27th, 2008 - Event #4 - £10,000 – World Championship No-Limit Hold'em (5-day event/two opening days)

All the above tournaments will be sanctioned gold bracelet events. Five additional non-bracelet events will also be scheduled during the tournament. Visit www.wsope2008.com for more details.

The WSOPE will be held from September 19th to October 2nd, 2008 in London, England. This year's tournament will again be hosted by London Clubs International (LCI) at their London locations.

Players can pre-register for the WSOPE at any LCI venue in the UK and all Harrah's venues in Las Vegas. Alternatively they can try and qualify online exclusively at Betfair Poker. www.betfairpoker.com

For the first time, and subject to the execution of a definitive agreement, ESPN, the exclusive World Series of Poker telecaster, is scheduled to air eight original hours of coverage of the World Series of Poker Europe in the United States and distribute the tournament globally. ESPN360.com, ESPN's signature broadband sports network, is scheduled to provide live coverage in the U.S., Europe, Mexico and Brazil.

Harrah's Entertainment will distribute the World Series of Poker Europe programming in non-ESPN markets, which in 2007 totaled over 100 million households including U.K. host broadcaster Sky Sports.

Sweet, I'll be able to play the HORSE and only give up 1/2 as much EV.

The addition of 5 non-bracelet events could be anywhere from pretty decent to very good. I'm guessing if they are having a 1500 pound bracelet event, the non-bracelet events will probably all be like 2-500 pounds or something.

Pokernews is announcing that the WSOPE will now solely be held at Leicester Square, formerly known as the Casino of the Empire. The schedule remains the same.

Does anyone know where to find out about the non-bracelet events (dates/buy-ins). I can't seem to find this anywhere, but would make me much more inclined to make travel plans after my EPT Barcalona trip if I knew what else they had planned.

I don't think they've announced them yet. With the announcement that all the bracelet events are going to be in one casino, maybe they've changed their mind on having them.

Uggg I wish London wasn't so expensive. I'd really love to go, but dropping 30k on a trip right now is just out of the question.
