it is up to the player to decide if they want more play early or late
It's not that easy to make 4 hours in the Colostomy. I saw a LOT of people go out in the first 4 hours, including me. You have to get pretty lucky to get there.
A lot depends on your table too. Some of the players give new meaning to the word "clueless". The first level is 25/50 and we had guys open raising to 300 or 400. Then there might be 2 callers to you and you look at AQo. You only get 5k chips, so you have to play fit or fold on the flop because the pot's got like 2k chips already. So if you're on this kind of table you have to decide right from the start if you're going to fold marginal hands like AQ pre or not. And you're barely deep enough to set mine in the first level, forget about the second level. Early on it's get lucky or get on the rail.
If you don't care about length of levels, this is a true statement. But since the Colossus has 30/60 minute levels vs the Giant's 20/40, this is only a true statement for the first couple of levels, after which the Colossus has a much better structure.
I was thinking about Giants but if your trip is planned
for week of June 28 th , you can do it .Otherwise you have
to comeback 2nd time to Las Vegas to play day2 and 3.

Yeah this is exactly what I was thinking. I realize the levels in the Giant are shorter but the difference between a 25,000 starting stack and 5,000 one is pretty huge. 25K gives you wiggle room even if you lose a pot or two early on.

I'm going from 6/6 to 6/15. If you don't fire the Marathon on 6/11, there is Day 1C of a $600 with $1M guaranteed at the Venetian. My plan for that day depends on how the first half of my trip has gone, but will be one of those tournaments (assuming I'm not in Day 2 of MM, heh).
Also on 6/6, Venetian has Day 1D of $1100 MSPT which has a 3.5M guarantee. I'm arriving at 5pm on the 6th and going to late reg it for sure.
