What do you guys think the strength of the field is gonna be in the $1500 PL Omaha 8 event this year?

The $1K and $1.5K NL Holdem fields are really weak but that's because the fields are huge and there are lots of holdem donks in general.

Last year's event drew 762 players so any insight from someone that played last year would be greatly appreciated.

i have only played PLO at WSOP will be my first PLO8. i heard they are running satties Monday for the 1.5k PLO8, play some of those and you'll get a feel. i played a PLO8 at the Golden Nugget series yesterday and the play was LOL for about half the field. WSOP plays better of course but 800 runners and how many regularly play PLO8 MTTs? should be fun gl......

Based on last year, the field will be very weak. Just be prepared to be tilted by dealers who have (a) trouble figuring out the size of the pot and the amount it can be raised and (b) can't split pots.

i played the golden nugget plo8 on friday and this happened.....

board: 2457x
player 1 bets pot, player 2 calls

player 1 shows 36xx for 23456
player 2 shows aa47

dealer chops pot.....i tell him player 1 scooped. he says no, i say yes. he says "no A2 is nut lo, A3 is next, and then A4".....i quit arguing because i wasn't in the pot. plus many times dealers counted the pot size wrong....keep on your toes for these events........

I haven't seen anything as atrocious as this. But some dealers definitely need help chopping pots that involve quarters. IMO the dealers have improved a lot since the first time I played this event in 2007.

As far as the field , it will considerably weak since this game is not very popular. And tournament wise it hasn't been spread very often until this summer. If you are a competent player, you should be pleasantly surprised.
