WSOP Circuit Event @ Choctaw Casino - January 6-25, 2011 WSOP Circuit Event @ Choctaw Casino - January 6-25, 2011

Out of the main 10 from the money...player in the small blind willing to play out of postion for a raise pre-flop trying to hit a hand, all the money goes in when I turn a set of 8's and lose to broadway. Time to reflect on how I could have played it differently against this type of player. I learned a lot and had some fun.

A big thanks to Jimmy and his staff for running a superior event, to Choctaw for hosting this event, the players for supporting it and turning out in numbers that shows this area likes it poker and to the WSOP for bringing this event to us. And of course a big thanks to Big Tex, hope to see you as a regular at Choctaw soon.

Good luck to all those still in the main and here's to May whern we get some more real poker in this area.

Sorry bout the bust out it sucks to run so deep and with no money. But atleast there are real tourneys in your area now. It was nice meeting you and so many other good people.

Thanks for all the posts and contributions of Big Tex and everyone else. Your participation has not gone unnoticed. Thank you. Truly. Thank you.

Thanks a lot Bill, and thanks for all that you do. There is no better poker tournament experience than a tournament that you and your team are running!

Yes BigTex, with 20 min last in the last level of day 1, I had 8 black chips after losing a 200k pot. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play on day 2.

I just received an email from someone I met at Choctaw and I decided to answer his question here where all can see it. He asked why I use my actual picture and as my avatar and my actual "nick name"? It is simple I enjoy meeting fellow poker players and making new friends and this is made easier by using my picture. Another reason is I sometimes criticize "house friendly" tourneys, structures or most anything that I feel is detrimental to players interest in general and I firmly believe that if you are going to criticize anything you should do it openly and not hide behind a phony avatar and name. If you are afraid to face people openly you should keep your opinions to yourself.

Just for the record, I use my real name as well, though I spare you all the sheer hotness that is my picture. Besides, it makes things fun. If I make it to Vegas for the WSOP, I have a little game planned. Those who did meet me this week, no fair spreading shizz round, k? (Although I'm sure telling people "I met hime!" was probably the highlight of your week.)

After taking a horrendous beat early in the main I was gone quick. I do want to thank Jimmy, Bill and their whole staff for bringing this series to the area. I only played two events but could tell you guys know what you are doing.

The only two things I would like to see changed for next year is a $500 heads up double elimination ring event and a new chip set. The 1k and 5K chips do not match the other chips are the same set I used in my home game in 1996. Other than that keep up what you did for the past two weeks as it works!

Looks like the night ended crazily for Lance. Would love to hear the dynamics behind the guy making this call on him. I guess once he puts half his stack in on a bluff he decides to go with it but still hurts.

From Poker news;
Lance Freeman was crippled by the sickest hand of the day. At 15,000/30,000/4,000, Joel Bui limped in from late position and Ilich limped behind. Freeman raised to 100,000 from the big blind and Bui back-re-raised to 200,000. Ilich got out of the way, Freeman moved all in for a little less than 500,000 and Bui called. Bui was light-years behind with 4H 3H against Freeman's KK, but the flop fell A-Spades 3-Clubs 4-Clubs giving Bui two-pair. He retained the lead after the turn and river bricked 6-Spades, Q-Diamonds respectively, leaving Freeman with just 16,000 chips. He busted in 17th place soon after.
