realistically what can a good player's ROI be in these 365 dollar events?

man, this is a tough subject. The rake is very high, but the play is all-time bad, including some of the circuit travelers that fire all events.

It's like playing a 2/5 game w $5 rake, no drop, nothing else. If the game is nitty players, tough players, etc the Rake/No Drop is a very small factor. If there is a private game down the street that is raking $13+2 drop each hand, but is filled with mega fish the Rake/Drop again is a very small factor. Which game gives you a better roi?

I wouldn't hesitate to buy any good player at 2.5:1 if I was able to get action for the entire year.

That may be too low, honestly.

What buy-in were you hoping for? They seem to have everything up to and including $25K (event 67)...

Umm, that's for the WSOP this summer not the circuit series starting Friday.

DOH! My bad...it's what I get for having both WSOP threads open at the same time in different windows at 0'dark-thirty.

yeah, my bad...

Other than Hammond, I don't remember seeing many Circuit events other than a Circuit Main or Circuit High Roller that was over $365. Both HORSE and PLO at Hammond were $5xx but those seem to have been the outliers for the events I have attended...

Yes sir, going 2/21-2/28 for the grind. Does anyone know in what area of the Rio the tourneys will be played? I read earlier in the thread they will be taking out slots in the Masquerade area. Is this confirmed? ?

When I was there last weekend they had some tables set up outside of the poker room. Not enough to run the Circuit event, so maybe they just expected lots of overflow? If they were smart they would run cash games right next to the tournament tables so people can easily move to/fro and hear satellite announcements, etc.

Luckily it's not a huge place, so it should be easy to find.

Not shocking they won't be prepared. I know Bally's cancelled (Who did a great job) but there is no excuse for this.

Tables for Satty's, Ring Events, & Cash should all be available at all times. I'm sure there won't be a huge turnout, but 4-5 tables for all of this, is comedy.

edit: @WSOP twitter account confirmed it's Masquerade area. See everybody there

So you don't even know for sure what the situation is and you are already complaining that they aren't prepared? smh...

I won't defend PH. I'm just saying you don't even know where in the Rio this event is going to be held. Yes there are tables set up outside of the poker room. You shouldn't jump to the conclusion that they are going to try to hold an entire circuit event on tables outside the poker room.

I was just at the Rio. In addition to the poker room there are two other areas toward the east end of the casino that have been set up with tables.

Will registration be in the poker room or in masquerade were tables are set up in pic?

Where is the poker room in Rio?...I know where we play in the summer but not a clue where official poker room is.

It's right near the buffet, next to the sports book.

The pics don't show them all, right? They need at least 30 tables to run the tournaments, satellites, and cash games, right?

I would think they need more than that, more like 40-50 at least, not sure how many are actually set up. Hopefully someone can report for us, should be plenty of people there playin the reentry today.

I believe my pictures show 27 tables. There are maybe 10 or 12 set up outside the poker room but don't quote me on that.
