It looks like WPT is back in Macau with a 40k HKD main event (~5k USD).

For once there is a tournament close to home and I'm thinking of going.

Does anyone have any experience playing in Macau and how is it like ?
The timing is clashing with the WSOP so I guess it will me mostly asian players joining.

This is the first tournament in Macau since 2018 AFAIK, and this casino never held a tournament, so it's anyone's guess. There is the Macau thread in V&C which will probably scare anyone away, but it's mostly cash games. Based on my limited experience tournaments in Macau could be decent, attracts bad players like everywhere else, and also reasonable rake unlike cash games. So there's that. The games at the WSOP will be much better though for sure, no comparison there.

Ah well apparently this event has been cancelled.
No reason given for the moment.
