To compare, the true Mega Satellites at the WSOP has a rake of only 11.8% despite the lower buy-ins of $330 and $550.
Yeah, but the SPT is like a satellite and event all in one. Satellite the first day, event the second day for one rake. At the WSOP, you pay rake for the satellite and then pay rake again to enter the event.

On a related note, the SPT is having a bunch of events this weekend in Tracy, CA. LOL, I didn't even know Tracy had a cardroom, I just happened across the SPT info by accident. Anyone have any first-hand knowledge of the SPT or the Tracy cardroom, or going to the events?

I traveled to Tunica for the SPT's inaugural event a few months ago.

I was disappointed in the turn out especially for the non hold-em events. One event barely got one table filled. I suppose each venue will be different.

The fields were softer with much less aggression than you will find in open events. Lots of limping and very few 3 bets or 4 bets.

I find the senior events have more recreational players and are generally more friendly. We chopped one event evenly 8 ways when others had 8 or 10 times my stack.

I'm disappointed that they cancelled this event but they are supposedly looking for another venue on the same dates. They were hoping to have more info available May 9th but nothing on their website or Facebook page yet.
