Hey everyone!

Here's the schedule for the upcoming Playground Poker Spring Classic, presented as usual by our awesome sponsor partypoker.net

The highlight of course is the WPT Canadian Spring Championship, which is a $3,200 + $300 event (the same as last year) and is the kick off event of Season XV of the World Poker Tour.

In addition there are 16 other events. A couple of the highlights:

-By popular demand, we've added tournaments for 50+ players and women. All Playground events are quite popular with both groups, but we nevertheless have received many many requests over the years for dedicated events.

-There's a $500 + $100 + $500 50/50 Bounty tourney, which should be pretty sick. Yes, that means that of your $1100 total buy-in, $500 goes to the prize pool and $500 is your bounty.

-Two $500 + $50 Freezeout tourneys - which is a very popular format.

-And the $1,500 + $150 Second Chance event, so if you bust out of the WPT you'll still have a reasonably big buy-in event to play.

I'll be monitoring here to respond to any questions.

We've put the main schedule up on the website and all of the other material we publish - full structure PDFs, most significantly - will be up next week.

Is there a reason this series and the WSOP circuit event at Casino montreal are competing against each other?

How are you expecting numbers to reflect this? Seems like something that could have a pretty drastic affect on the number of entrants you get. Especially in event #5/7/Main

Also is there any guesses to how cash games will be affected by this? With players in Montreal area being spread across two casinos it is a fair assumption that cash game action will be significantly affected? In November it wasn't until the $500 freeze out 5/10 action started, is that a fair timeline for this series too?

Hey Yoyobo,

We've hosted a series at this time of year for the past 4 years now, and it's a very difficult time of year to schedule anything, what with the WSOP in Las Vegas starting at the end of May and many culturally significant holidays around that time as well.

Overall, our opinion is that it's just going to be great for players to have so many options in the Montreal area at the time. And since numbers aren't extremely predictable, we're always less worried about that than about providing the best experience possible for the players who do choose to play in events at Playground Poker Club.

The only players who will not easily be able to play the WPT Canadian Spring Championship are those that make Day 3 of the Main Event in the other series as well - which really limits the numbers who would be unable to play due to a direct schedule conflict. And even in that case, if the player qualified there via Day 1a could play a starting flight of the WPT in their off day and then return and finish that event before the Day 2 restart of the WPT on May 2nd.

No, there has generally not been a guarantee on WPT Main Tour events we've hosted in the past. The numbers are always pretty great though - the average number of runners over the past 6 $3K+ events is around 662 and the average only counting $3K+ events held in the spring is 561 entries...

Can we expect partypoker to run satellites for the main? If so, you have any information on when they will likely to start?

Never mind, I see that satellites are already running at partypoker.

Unfortunately, the online satellite system is nowhere as good as last year. There is only ONE "WPT CSC" satellite and the buy-in is U$530 with up to three re-entries, so players can go busto spending up to U$2,120 for a 4K package. While there were a lot of partypoker WPT Fallsview qualifiers in 2015 and we had a packed Players Party, there were only six partypoker qualifiers this year, with two of them online pros from outside Canada.

I was able to win entries to WPT FPC through rake-free home games or satellites at the casino instead of online, so my friends and I will have to do the same for WPT CSC.

Are the sattys must plays? Or can you sell the ticket if you win one?

Online satellite tickets you might win are non-transferrable.

Live satellite tickets ARE transferrable. The transfer must be done at the cashier (every tournament ticket belongs to a specific named player, and the cashier makes this change for free up to 2 hours before an event). But doing it at the cashier doesn't mean Playground gets involved in your sale agreement - you can sell the ticket for whatever price the two parties determine (including selling at a discount and reserving points or whatever).

In practice there's a pretty healthy market for live satellite tickets, as you would expect.

I've got a question on tournament duration.

Are the side events generally one day or do they come back for a second day and if so approx. how far down do they play on day 1 (ITM, final table, set hours)?

I'm mainly referring to events #5 and #7.

Thanks for any info

Hi Ricky - Side events on the schedule with a single day listed are indeed one-day events. There are no "tournament days" that are not listed in the schedule above or the version on our website. Events 5 and 7 should both be pretty epic events, but both will play through until there is a winner.

Here is the coverage of a similar event we hosted during the Fall Classic last November: http://events.playgroundpoker.ca/fal...event/event-7/ and you can see the structure sheet and rules for the event here: http://www.playgroundpoker.ca/files/...vent-07-EN.pdf

These should give you all of the information you're looking for!

We'll be posting similar Rules & Structure sheets for all of the Spring Classic events shortly.

I know Tony Dunst and two Royal Flush Girls will be there, but will it be televised to compete better with the other series, i.e., with Lynn Gilmartin, Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten?

Hey Nash - the Canadian Spring Championship will continue to be a live streamed event, while the WPT Montreal will continue to be a televised event.

That being said, Mike Sexton was here at Playground Poker Club last year - I'm awaiting confirmation about his plans this year.

Hey everyone - the "Rules and Structure" sheets we publish for every event have now been published. You can grab them through the Spring Classic landing page, here: https://www.playgroundpoker.ca/springclassic2016 - just look for the "PDF" link beside each event.

There are also quick links for each event to "Buy tickets" online through the website.

As always, if you have any questions about the rules or tournament structures, we'll do our best to provide all the answers you require!

Thanks Jack - great to hear.

It's pretty important to us that in "The Wild $150" and "The $250 Frenzy" we provide players with the full Big Event experience for a small buy-in. That's the whole idea - and it's also behind why we blog all of the events. People like to see their names and photos just like they see the names of top professionals in larger events when those are covered by some of the international poker press.

It's also pretty cool that in those events are geared towards recreational players - but they also attract big-time players as well - there are men and women who have won or cashed in huge international events also sitting in our $150 events, and that's a great experience for everyone!

Sure man. Are there any official player parties or anything of that nature, and if there are, do you have to be an online qualifier or play the main specifically or what to join?
