Ive been wondering how other former online micro/small stakes players are doing since black Friday. How has live poker gone? Do you track you live tournaments? I've been using poker dominator .com.

I assume sample sizes still need to be very large either live or online, but can I really take anything away from my small sample size since black Friday?

The win rate (actual) stat is messed up do to loading in sets of tournaments using same date/time. I have to input manually. The $44.72 is my hourly.

This includes several nice scores and 1 $3600 score that should have been much bigger. $1K WPT prelim at Foxwoods last month went into final table with chip lead. AQ<A7 aipf vs. 13BB stk then not too long later bvb QQ<AA aipf to be out 10th ....

Does anyone else feel like they are still adjusting to live? What stakes online would you compare $100-$300~ live Mtt's to?

No, you can't take anything from it. It's 51 tournaments. You have cashed in 1/3 of them. You could have easily cashed in 3 of them instead.

If you were a winning online player pre-BF then it's probably fair to assume you're a winner at live tournaments especially with an ABI of ~$150, but you're basically looking at nothing but variance here.

Agree that a lot of live tournaments under $200 play like online tournaments under $5.

I agree. Live poker has done wonders for my confidence. I think mostly because I'm not playing a ton of great players.

Playing vs. certain players has become so easy. They play extremely face up.

Regardless it feel good to have done so well this year (1 month to go knock on wood). I'm not playing much volume at all next month so.

Playing volume in live MTT's is impossible and I feel I got out there as much as I had time for.

This coming year if we go all year with no Internet poker what are your plans for poker?

Looking for a stake, but it's hard only showing such a small sample size.

yah, i feel ya bro, putting in the volume/grind for live tournies is pretty brutal when your busto after 5-6 hours..no cash,& getting 25 hands an hour.

but at least their much softer compared to online.

i really miss ol , traveling 80-120 miles to play a 100-200$ tourny with 20-25% rake is really gay, but can feel really good when actually doing decent.

I wish I could maintain a 135% ROI when I return to online. I'd be rich bitch. Live is lol soft. 50% are as super loose passive fish, 20% calling stations /overplay hands when they have betting lead fish, 20% maniacs, 5% no idea what's going on, 3% good, 2% very good.

Its pretty weird actually.

At venetian series in the $300/$500s you get this weird mix of good online players and terrible poker players.

Everywhere else I've played its normally just 90% terrible players, but it seemed different at venetian during WSOP(2010).

I've sat down there in a $300 to a table much worse than a $55 online and sat down in a $300 better than a $2 online.

The real difference is that even the bad players online have some idea and know what to expect. These live people are genuinely surprised when you shove with 8BBs.

They open themselves up to be exploited in ways the fish never do online.

The biggest part I'm still fine tuning is shoving ranges. I felt need to over adjust at first with how wide I shoved and how wide I called. I felt well most of these guys are waiting to shove top 5% and not much wider (at least not until very late and usually ITM) and there calling ranges are super tight to even maintaining plenty of fold equity down to 7bb shoves.

They'll fold to the ~16-20bb squeeze shoves so often I won't look at my cards from the BB after it's limped 2-4 ways or raised and called in a spot or two.

I'm also realizing they don't bluff anywhere near as much as online. Sure there are a few guys, but in general not many players are getting out of line anywhere near online.

Exploiting the bubble is way easier and way more profitable in the lower buyin live tournies as well.

Ranges pre-flop are supper looooose, but tighten up post flop a ton. It's fairly easy to narrow villains range.
