Hi all,

We have some really cool new stuff for Eureka and EPT Vienna! The city is awesome as I mentioned in my earlier posts and the tournaments are going to be a lot of fun with cash games operated in partnership with the Concord Casino in Austria (http://ccc.co.at/concord_card_casino).

Some fun tourney highlights -

EPT's first ever "Deuces Wild" No Limit Holdem Tournament! Just like it sounds, normal NLH but the Ducks are Quackers - sorry, couldn't help myself

EPT's first ever Limit 7 Stud Championship!

EPT's first ever PLO Reverse Mix Max!

EPT's first ever Limit Omaha High / Low - Double Board - 8 Handed - Deepstack Turbo - in my ongoing bid for the longest tournament title in history

EPT's first ever LIVE Hybrid event. We took the 2K Turbo on EPT Main Day 1B and turned it into 50% prize money and 50% seats to EPT Monaco!

David - 3 - I respectfully disagree. The €100 or €200 buyin events on the EPT are designed to be fun and change things up a bit. We are very lucky that we have a lot of players and the freedom to spread tournaments that aren't going to be as popular as a typical NLH event. We have a lot of "serious" poker tournaments for all buyins, from the 300 Mini in the Eureka through the 1K and 2K's on the EPT. I see no reason why we can't have some fun events and variations not normally seen on Tours around the world.

For Vienna, we have a total of 40 tournaments, with 32 NLH, 4 PLO, 2 Stud, 1 Limit and 1 Omaha High Low. 17 of them €1K+, 8 of them at €500 and 15 of them between €100 and €300. Of the 32 NLH, I would say 4 of them are "gimmicky", the Deuces Wild, the always 20 BB, the Hybrid and the Choose your Buyin. The Reverse Mix Max basically takes the place of our Heads Up Events, so I don't consider that too gimmicky. Only the Hybrid is for more than €300 and we were asked to include that because the online Hybrid tournaments have been so successful and we wanted to try it out in a live setting.

I'm really pleased with the schedule and I think a lot of players will have fun with these events.

Cheers,

Neil

Great schedule, I'm glad fixed limit and other games are also present in EPT. Those championships are fine ideas, it makes these events more outstanding.

I hope there will be 5 Card Draw championships in San Remo.

mixmax is a decent replacement/way to get more players for a (partially) hu tourney

semi sat worth a try, rake should be reduced though for a satellite imo.

NL - Turbo - Choose Your BuyIn - €100, €200 or €300 €100/200/300 + €20
if this is the same as "multi prize pool" its very open to collusion/chip dumping

Accumulator is not a good format imo, hurts everyone and is worse than reentry overall. Been discussed a lot when wsopa had one.

why are there 100+10 turbos and a hyper turbo is 100+20?

March 21 - Friday
12:00 1 Eureka Main Event - Day 2* CLOSED
16:00 5 NL - Eureka Mini Single Re-entry - Day 1* €300 + €30
21:15 6 NL - Turbo - "Deuces Wild" - Deepstack Turbo* €100 + €10
any hs players who come for eureka main, bust day 1, want to play 2k next day are not gonna want to grind a good structured 300 and miss the 2k. there should be some sort of hs 1-day tourney on this day, a 500r sat or a 1k turbo or something.

I get that you like to have a few uncommon game types etc, that's fine, but there are a LOT in this schedule, I think it's overkill. Surely double board o8 is a step too far, imo try to cultivate regular limit o8 first before some crazy variation.

running a couple sats to gf (or next stop would also be good) near the end of the schedule is a good idea i hope they are a success.

good to see 2k 8max 30 mins levels back on 2nd last day, was a fun one in berlin when you had it

imo something like a 300 or 500 8game (or go with a different mix if you like) would be a good way to introduce new games, personally i would be more likely to play that than a limit holdem/pl stud/etc tourney pending finding a spot for it where you could bust that day's 30 min levels for example and reg it in the afternoon/evening

Hey Neil

I see the 1k single re-entry has Day 1A/1B but no day 2. So, does it finish on Day 1B?

I disagree, that's great news to me all some players with limited bankroll & desire to play non hold'em tourneys. And this variety of games might drive me to Vienna to play side events and, who knows, a sat to the Main... so, you see David, small events bring dead money in the Main too !

+1
The last day turbos are fun at each stop, I think a semi-turbo mixed games on the last days would be a nice tradition...

I'm forced to agree. Random formats, and only O8 is fixed random event which is clearly least popular of O8-formats (NL/PL/FL).

Next time please add first 1 NLO8 event, 1 PLO8 event and after that random-events. Quite funny that even Chinese Poker isn't represented in tournament schedule, consider how popular it is.

Had probably too high hopes after London schedule, too bad that couldn't participate to that only event which actually had some interesting side events

Thinking about trying to satellite into this - will there be any seat-only qualifiers, and if so when?

Inclined to agree with david on all things MTT. Not that I necessarily represent a large portion of your target market but I won't play anything other than regular MTTs. Could we have a regular speed, 8-handed, normal €1k plo please?

On cash games, that's actually a fairly reasonable rake, but am curious what else we get for that money - mainly interested in whether hot drinks are included.
