Put yourselves in the WSOP's shoes, and realize that any time there is no line for registration, they're paying employees to wait around. They're going to aim for having a line of some kind at all times, and they'd rather be wrong with fewer tellers and a longer line than too many. They have years of experience trying to estimate how many they'll need at different times based on the events starting that day and the next, so they're not too bad at it. Of course you should still try to avoid the couple hours before a major event is starting as they'll have capacity issues with the number of windows available even if they're able to staff them all.

I registered in person my first trip to the WSOP, and last year decided to pay the fees to register online with a credit card. It was worth every penny and I'll certainly do it again this year.
This year it will be bigger crowd and bigger lines due to Million $$ Bounty and Gladiator bundle to gather for the 1st week. $300 buy in will bring Many thousands first timers.

It will be a nightmare if not pre-registered online.

Closer to 5 am is infinitely better than 11 pm.

I've registered some big field events at 5 am in the past, and it's never taken me more than 5 minutes. They don't have a full staff, but there's never anyone in line. One time at the Rio, I was the only non-staff person in the entire place at 5 am other than one 5 handed cash game in the Pavilion.

On the other hand, I have waited 1-2 hours when trying to register around 11 or midnight.

Does anyone knows brake down of bounty pay out ?

Does anyone knows what was minimum bounty?

I read somewhere that minimum bounty this year is $10000 !

But not sure .
Doing some basic Math, I'm not sure how the minimum bounty can be $10,000. If let's say there are 15,000 entries and $300 from each buy-in going toward the bounty pool, that's $4,500,000 for bounties. If approximately 6% of entries make day 2, that leaves 900 bounties. 900 x $10,000 = $9,000,000, which is twice the amount in the pool for bounties. Even worse, if the minimum is $10,000, that actually means the AVERAGE bounty would be more than $10,000, factoring in the $1,000,000 bounty and other larger bounties. The Math just gets worse. I wonder if the smallest bounties on day 2 are more like $1,000 or something. Then maybe some $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, $100,000, and the $1,000,000 bounty.

I did the math months ago. I always thought that it would be under 3% that make it to day 2. They are on record as saying that the min bounty is $10K. It will be a tall hill to climb to make it to day 2.

Apparently single table satellites are gone this year. Pretty disappointing, those were always lots of fun

Am I missing something on how this works?

Holy crap! That makes a hell of a difference.

Very nice work tracking this down and clarifying things for us. Well done. So when will they correct their published statements regarding the minimum bounties?

Here's an article about last year's Mystery Bounty that better shows and explains the bounty payouts:

You have to make the money and then knock someone out to have a chance at a bounty? I bet it will be much harder to make the money than in something like the Colossal or Gladiators.

I've never made the top 6% of a bracelet event, so it's very unlikely I'll have a shot at a bounty. That means I'm just donating $300 to the field out of my entry.

Last year’s Million $$ Bounty , each day on average 5.86% of the field made it to day 2 . Total =14112/827.

I know it is tough task but would definitely take a shot at it .

We should get together and Run Last Longer for Million $$ Bounty. It is fun. And give people some inspiration to run deep.

I ran on 2+2 a successful Last Longer in 2016 and 2017 . We had many players participated.

$100 or $50 I will be willing to run if there is enough interest.

Clickable links of previous Last Longers are in next posting .

( it is really fun to go through the thread)

I can't tell if you guys read too far into this or not far enough. Regardless, the original statement was that people would be on stage for drawing bounties of $10k or more.

The way this works:
1) Someone busts and gets sad
2) The person who busts them is very happy. A TD person shows up at the table with an iPad. The person who busts them gets their TR information taken and then presses a thing on the iPad, which does a random drawing. If the bounty is less than 10k (believe the amounts last year were 1000 2500 and 5000, but not 1000% confident on that), it shows on the screen and that's what they can collect at the cage. If the bounty is 10k or more, it shows a "Congrats! Report to the stage for the big drawing!" type of message.
3) The people who have won the big bounties go to the stage during breaks (and the breaks get super extended during this thing-day 2 takes forever as a result) and draw their bounty of 10k+. Matt Glantz wins a milly a day after tweeting that this tournament made no sense to him.

I think it’s different for each individual.

I will only play the tournament which makes sense to me or I will stay away .

If I play Million $ Bounty this year ( last year I couldn’t due to my travel date conflict) and knocked out on first day or made day 2 and collected minimum bounty, and the person who knocked me out win’s million $ Bounty. It will be 100% fine with me as I was in the tournament with my will and understanding.

These were great posts.

Made me think and research my previous results.

I am more motivated now . ( Not over confident). I am going to try my best to get better results this year. Let’s see what happens.

Here are some of my previous results . I am not a regular player. I only play some Borgata tournaments and 1 or 2 WSOP almost every year . ( Mostly 1k or lower)

2009 WSOP 1k buy-in ( entries 6012 ) cashed when 6% remaining.
2013. WPT Borgata $500 buy-in (entries 4482) cashed when 7% remaining.
2016 WSOP $565 Colossus II ( entries 21613) cashed when 3.5% remaining.
2017. WSOP $565 Colossus III ( entries 18054) cashed when 4% remaining.
2019. WSOP $500 Big 50 ( entries 28371 ) cashed when 10% remaining.
2021 WSOP $10K ME (entries 6650) cashed when 14% remaining (Min cash).

I alway do better in events with huge attendance.
It just challenge me to play better.

I always do better if I am part of Last Longer pool. Somehow it makes me play my best game .

I was going to play Mystery Million and Gladiator even before I read comments from “ WSOPeddie”and “pig4bill”.

I am going to thank them for very inspiring observations.

I will welcome any help, suggestions to improve my game from experienced forum members.

Let’s one of us run deep . ( or all of us ).

If you are planning to play please express your plans.

Good Luck All
