If anyone would like to meet up for a beer in Lima shoot me a message. Really looking forward to this trip as I've only heard great things about Peru.

On a negative... the satellites to this stop have been the nut worst from LAPT standards. This is the final weekend and players are offered a $530 sat with 1 seat ($2500) for a guarantee. I've always been complimentary of the LAPT and the fine work they've done via satellites (historically best out of all Live Tours Stars puts on) for the past few years but the Peru stop is just a flop. I understand the WSOP is on.... but this isn't good enough.

yes online sats have been VERY poor compared to Panama that is for sure. the $215 1 seat gtd even got cancelled on sunday!

i mean much less than usa and nobody rly complains about wsop... but huge +1 on please let us know what venue is in the works. Uruguay + Brazil gives me an easy excuse to come back to latin america, if ur gonna cancel and hold it in bahamas again like last year I may just stay in asia awhile longer.

keep cruising around. a bit north on larco and benavides where the money changers are there's like 5-6 ATMs next to each other. bought a car in peru last year and remember it only taking 2 days to get the money out with not horrible fees, so there are options but I hit 6-7 ATMs before I found something decent.

oh btw, Alvaro the tournament room director at Atlantic City always used to exchange your stars for dollars for a 1% vig. Was always a good deal. Stop by the cash game room anytime after 6pm and ask for Alvaro and see if he still does this. Speaks english, big MMA fighter dude and nice guy, very trustworthy. sry slipped my mind earlier. PM me for his email if needed as well. and thank you LAPT for holding true with saying you would release final location/dates after Peru, am looking forward to the announcement

15% for foreigners and 30% for locals iirc. It was definitely a high enough number that scared me away from playing satties or considering going to any Brazilian events

I realized few days ago how much they are raking + staff fee for every tournament. Seems way too high compared to ept, wsop, etc.
Gonna check numbers again in couple of days and write something about it.
07-21-2015 , 10:38 AM
yes the staff fees are quite high here... the 5k high roller which is glorified 45 man turbo sng is $4459+$441 rake.

The fact that this announcement isn't in English is kinda amusing.

Take a look at pokerstarsmacau.com. Consider for a moment that the two official languages spoken in Macau are Mandarin and Portuguese. Yet, here we are with an English webpage, the global language of the internet.

It's not even that everything has to be done in English, but why would you give us a link in Spanish to a tournament in a country that speaks Portuguese on an English forum?

The LAPT hasn't found huge success in part because it looks at it's own player pool as the ignorant backwater of the internet. Finding information about this tour has always been exercise, and it doesn't make sense when other branches of Pokerstars are very effective at clear in this regard.

Hi,

Im sorry you feel let down by the link only being in Spanish, this is an oversight on my part. I have included below the English text of the announcement. Further details about this event as well as the Tour in general can be found in English, Spanish and Portuguese on the LAPT's website http://www.lapt.com.

----------

The Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) today announced a collaboration with the Brazil Series of Poker (BSOP) Millions festival for the much anticipated Season 8 Grand Final. The partnership will see the two tours come together to create an amazing poker festival featuring 32 events across nine days from November 25 to December 3, 2015.

Season 8 of the LAPT has seen the tour head to the Bahamas for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in January before making stops in Chile, Panama and Peru, with a festival in Uruguay planned to take place in September. The tour will then finish in São Paulo with the BSOP Millions for the Grand Final from November 25-29.

The BSOP Millions is the biggest poker festival ever held in Latin America. Last year’s event saw more than 15,000 tournament entries with 2,749 in the Main Event, and paid out more than R$16 million (approx. US $6.6 million) in prizes.

Igor Federal, Chief Executive Officer of the BSOP, said: “The BSOP Millions and the LAPT Grand Final are the two most important live poker events in Latin America. The region has seen a massive increase in player numbers in recent years, with the BSOP reporting a 218% increase in tournament entries since last year. Bringing together the two tours means that we can combine our efforts to create one amazing festival, and we are expecting record numbers of players.”

Team PokerStars Pro, Andre Akkari added: “In 2014 the BSOP Millions was a record-breaking event, providing a poker festival experience like no other. This year, with the LAPT Grand Final joining the festival and Brazilian football legend Neymar Jr acting as a PokerStars ambassador to help promote poker as a sport, it is going to increase overall participation and strengthen the competitiveness of the event. I encourage players from all over Latin America to participate in both tournaments and contribute to the growth of poker in the region.”

This year's festival features 32 tournaments, offering a wide variety of games and buy-in levels for all types of player, from recreational to professional, including the R$10,000 LAPT Grand Final Main Event and the R$3,000 BSOP Millions events. Players will be able to participate in both as the final day of the LAPT coincides with Day 1C of the BSOP Millions on November 29, with registration open until 8pm.

Other schedule highlights include a Seniors Event, PL Omaha Courchevel, NLH 6 Max, a NLH Survivor Event running every day at 10pm, and the popular Ladies Event.

EVENT DETAILS
Festival dates: November 25 - December 3, 2015
LAPT Grand Final Main Event: November 25-29
BSOP Millions Main Event: November 27 – December 3
