Also, I give players far more chips here than any casino - On a $100 buy-in, 6000 starting chips and 2,000 bonus. For $200 buy-in or more, 8,000 in starting chips and 2,000 bonus. Seems to be popular. Structures are always available at registration windows and posted on our website. Time will tell if this remains popular but we're listening to our players, and we retain the privilege to change things in the best interest of the game and the players.
If the structure posted on your website is the same with the actual structure of the tournament, then there wouldn't be any complaints. As your website clearly states the 75/150; 150/300; 500/1000 levels, many of us were expecting those levels and played differently in our game. Now all of a sudden you decided to change last minute, because you have the power to do so, and not informing us, it is only fair to see the whole room yelled and ranted about it right? I saw a lot of players stood up and what "hey, what happened to 500/1000 ?" etc..
I totally understand your point of view how it takes 15-20 hrs to finish a tournament if you follow this structure. However, if you look through out this series, there are only a few "deep stack" tournaments with this structure. The rest are usually turbos. I and about 4 of my friends came to this specific tournament is because of the chips amount/buy in/structure. I thought it is the best bang for my buck to play in this tournament and so is everyone else. A lot of players came because of the structure and THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE MORE THAN 350 PLAYERS registered. Some rumors said that because the casino didn't expect a large crowd, that's why they cut the levels...just disappointed.
What I can guarantee you is that you won't see me there anymore. At least Matt @ Commerce is much better at these things.
