The last level of the day finished just before 12:30am. (Level 18, 2500/5000) I busted around 190 with 15 minutes to go, so I'm going to assume 180 made it into day 2. Top 99 get paid.

What kind of chips do you normally play with? They are using "Paulson Top Hat & Cane" chips, which by the way are the same type of chips they use at the WSOP.

168 made day 2. Got busted 5 hands into day 2 on a short stack of 37k (3k-6k +1k ante) with AJs vs KQo. flopped A, runner-runner 4 flush.

All of our dealers on day one except for 1 were just fine. But the 1 was brutal, had trouble adding stacks, dealt very slow.

They also need to do something with the breaks, took way to long to clear out the room with only the 1 set of doors. I don't think the fire marshall would have liked the scene at the dinner break last night. All in all better than the last one, hope they keep improving.

And how about some single table SnG's instead of just multi table sats. Damn they run nonstop in Tunica & Horseshoe (Louisville).

The chips I played with at WSOP this year were much better than these chips. Im not trying to make a big speal about their chips. I mean.. chips are chips but theirs were not very good. I guess I was just comparing them to the ones I played with this summer in the Venetian Deepstacks and WSOP's. Compared to those series... these chips sucked.. but like I said whatever... chips aren't a huge deal... but many things could be improved... doubt I will be making the 3 hour drive to play another tourney there.

I will agree you about the Venetian chips, I like those also. But compared to the WSOP chips, except for the fact that the WSOP chips are multi-colored, they are the exact same chip.

Sorry you had a bad experience here, but I've played tournaments in Vegas, Tunica, Foxwoods, Indiana, Florida, and there is just not that much difference (IMHO). Sure some things could be better, but only through player input will anything improve.

Exactly... only through player input will anything improve.. thats what I'm trying to do here. I wouldn't say I had a "bad experience" at this tourney... just not one of the best I've ever had either.... The main thing I didn't like was how they just threw table game dealers into the tourney and expected things to go well... even though it was only 345 buyin.. we should still get dealers that have a clue. And the whole leaving the ballroom thing was pretty tilting

I busted 103rd. 3b jammed ajo over button open, bb had kk.
Had a bunch of inexperienced dealers also, but overall wasn't too bad since every table seemed to police itself well. I got to call clock on a guy who was tank-mucking, so that was fun. Also +1 the leaving the room for break complaints.

I played the seniors event today. 270 entrants. We started with T10k. 25 min levels. ante's after -100-200

I have a question about a hand. paid 27 place. 26 players left. Blinds 2.5-5k. 500ante

8 handed. I button raise all in and win blinds. Then 1 off the button I raise all in and win the blinds. Now 2 off the button. Stack 68k. Ac,Kd - raise 15k. Button (150k, weak tight) calls - SB (150k, fairly new at table) makes it 50k -pot 91.5k. Next money jump at 18, +$200.

What's my play?

I moved in, but in retrospect I believe that I should have folded. The first big stack turned over jj and mucked. I was called by the sb. He had QQ. I flopped AK and lossed to a turn q. I liked the qq when he turned it over because I believe it is the best I could hope for and could have been in a lot worse situation which is why I think its a fold.

Comments please.

I had no problems with the dealers. A bit slow but not horrible. Room was well lit. Tables fine. Chairs sucked.

I apologize for not using the hand converter.

I agree with all the above posts about leaving the room. They need to get rid of those tables/chairs and ropes near the exit and open ALL the doors. Other then that, it was a well run tourney.

Any reports on when 345 DS ended? Was there a chop like last time?

Deepstack #1 ended around 2:30am.

6 way chop,

$29,401
$28,401
$28,401
$28,401
$28,401
$28,401
$15,000

Guy wanted 1k extra bc he didn't want to play for the $1600 seat. the 29k and 15k guy had their chips removed (they didnt want to go for the 1600 seat per terms of deal)

1st would have been 59k and 6th was 9500.
Top 5 stacks were about the same.
Small stack only had couple blinds.

The casino wanted to bring in dealers from other Hollywood properties, and the Indiana Gaming Commission shut that down.

In the 8:15 last night we had a dealer who was so bad the TD was laughing at him (Dealer was sent out).

Yeah, the reality of the situation is that there aren't enough regular poker dealers to support a tournament that large, so their only choices are to either use blackjack dealers or cap the field and turn people away.

Any body have any idea of how many players the pot limit omaha will have in it tomorrow, at 3pm? I would like to play, but can't go into a second day.

Thanks!!

Last time they got 30ish players so I can't imagine they'll get anywhere near 100, which is what it takes to make it a 2 day event.

Maybe it was the tournament before that where they only got 30. At any rate I don't see them getting 100 this time.

FWIW the schedule for the Hollywood Poker Open is on the WPT website. It's probably too early for its own thread but thought I'd post it here. Kicks off w/ a 345 deepstack 1/4 Million guaranteed that allows re-entries and has 2 day 1s.

Can not believe they are bringing back the WPT after the really poor turn out last year, very surprised by this.

I was there Monday for the limit Omaha hi lo(200+30),68 players.Seven was getting paid but when they got to final table being ten handed they took 900 from first place money and paid 10,9,8 300 hundred.I think there was 3600$ left for first.I left when my mom busted 7th for 828$.

The 6 handed no limit on Monday I think had 90+(not positive)but I watched the final three play. All young men, when the got to heads up the chip leader took 4200$ and the other got 3800$ and then they played for the seat to the main. The shorter stack ended up winning the seat.
