2-winner $75-100 satellites is how I get into the $350-450 HPT qualifiers. I'll be there next week.

Any cheap but decent motels out there?

The thought of staying in a cheap motel in Gary makes my skin crawl.

I will be playing in Saturday's 9am satellite.

If I remember correctly from TV, doesn't the Casino itself have a hotel?

Yep ... check checked here:

http://www.heartlandpokertour.com/venue.php?vid=139

and they have the Majestic Star listed, along with other hotels in the area.

Link to the Casino:

BTW, I wonder if Majestic star is like Ceasars Indiana ... were you can call ahead in and book your tourney seat using a credit card.

I looked at the Hpt website and was wondering if anyone knew of cheaper ones.

I don't like to waste money on rooms. I'll do a search myself. Thanks for nothing ms hpt

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if you can sell multiple seats into the satellites and also the main event. I may be looking to drive up to the one in MI in beginning of May. I'm a few hours away and don't have much to do so was thinking about just grinding out the qualifiers and would sell extra seats?!? If I in fact could run good for once.

Yes you can. Some guys play 2 winner sng's all week just for that reason. You can also save up 5 of those tickets and go directly to the main event.

Will be there a bunch next week.

MJ is a dump of a casino, and their hotel is even worse. But they gave me a 2 night free stay, and $75 slot cash, so how can I refuse??

I'm playing the 4/19 4:00 satellite, final 16 make it, there are 23/24 players left. I'm the 2nd lowest stack at the table, about 17,000 in chips. Blinds $1,000/2000 w/$200 ante. All of which is to say, I can't fold my way through the last 7/8 players. Loose guy in middle position w/ lots of chips reraises UTG+1's standard raise. I have KK in SB and call all-in. Initial raiser folds. Chump turns over A9 clubs. Flop comes...you guessed it, all clubs. I know, I know, wah wah, bad beat, etc. But December in HPT sat. I got sucked out on the river two from the bubble. I just thought I'd mention I hate NL Holdem tourneys. Just hate them.

i ended up playing in today's satellite at 1pm -- top 16 got to advance. when we were down to 20, i was in 20th.....somehow managed to squeak in. Anyone else playing in the main event next weekend?

Don't think I can stick around for the weekend, but might try some cash games on Weds-Fri of this week while passing through. I was just about to dig though the old MJ threads and see what the consensus is for cash games when HPT is there.....

Just won my seat a few hours ago. They ran a satellite that started at Midnight. only 22 people started, top 4 got seats. Nice structure, very weak field.

HPT has this weird situation with overflow from the satellites. Like in this case, there is one seat for every five entrants. We had two extra people, and 5th place got nothing. Instead that money gets put into the prize pool for the main event. If however we had 23 people instead of 22, then they would've given away 5 seats because they "round up." I have no idea how this works with balancing the final prize pool, but whatever. It was strange.

I'm playing the Saturday AM flight. Who else is in this flight?

I'm Traveling there tomorrow am with a buddy to play the 10:00 am the 5:00 pm and the Friday 10:00 AM sats. Hopefully this works out but I guess you never know.

Can you choose your flight for the main or is it random?

We were allowed to choose our flight, but I won my seat early. I suspect that in the later sats you may not get a choice.

Hello guys, I use to post here a long time ago. I was browsing through these looking for a specific post about a question and saw this thread. I will be posting the Main Event day one results shortly with chip counts as flight C ends. Sorry I did not see this tread earlier to answer questions any of you might have had. Good luck to any of you who made day two.

If any of you played day one you saw me.....

What was the size of the turnout for Saturday? I was unuable to play this time but at the previous tournament I noticed that the numbers were down from the prior event.

Does anyone think that running HPT events three times a year at the MS has an effect on the volume of players that attend?
