The rooms are very nice. Expensive tho. There is a nice Best Western like 3 miles away for around $60 right next to 95.

I can't believe no one has said how horrible this structure is for any tournament, but especially for a buy in this big.

Can anyone clarify if the prize pool is guaranteed? I remember Hard Rock Tampa ran a similar thing a year or so ago that was misleading about the guaranteedness.

Probably going to play the 2k, ty for the Best Western tip, $300 a night is a tad absurd, anyone know if they give poker rates?

They dont give poker rates.....during the week you should get a lot better than $300, but weekends are real pricey.

The new structure is super dumb (they historically have had good structures). You start with way too many chips, then they skip a bunch of levels and don't start antes until way too late.

Still the $2200 should get a good turnout and will be worth playing.

Yeah their daily/nightly structures were MUCH better than this.

I won't be there, I'm not playing a $2200 crapshoot.

I just ran the patience factor formula on it.
The patience factor is 70 for the main event. That is hardly a crapshoot.
PF of 10 or higher is the min. (the higher the better) for a decent tourney, and this is 70.
You could not play a hand and it would take 8.5 hours to blind off.

I final tabled the 70k guar and it end up being around a 150k prize pool due to re-entry and multi day1, so yes the prize pools are guaranteed. Not in love with the structure, especially when u go deep its horrible as they skip levels. U can get great rates on priceline.com of nice hotels near the HR if u dont have brand preference. If you dont mind a lil commute(20 mins), the Marriott off Andrews/Cyress creek in Ft. Laud is like $99 and another player got it for $49 on priceline. glgl

The structure of the ME indeed looks pretty bad, missing quite a few levels

yeah, I was thinking after I posted it that crapshoot was probably a little strong, but I'd like to see the play LATER in the tournament. There's more to a good structure than a HUGE starting chip stack. I'd rather have a more GRADUAL structure and a smaller starting stack.

Event#5 $200 buy in w/re entry had 196 entries. $33K prize pool.

Event#6 $2,200 buy in starts tomorrow with Day 1A (1 hour levels and 30K in chips and a $250K guarantee)

Structure has been adjusted to mirror the monthly Big Slick tournament. Day 1 will last 8 levels.

Expecting 200 runners for this event
