They do run a hotel shuttle, however if you just miss it and don't feel like waiting half an hour it's a short cab ride.

Shuttle runs every half hour, so hard miss and have to wait 30.

Its right out the door past car rentals, and the last baggage claim area. You can see hotel from there. Cab is less than $10

I will look into it for future events with the poker room manager but the last one we did didnt seem to work as far as keeping players around for the whole tourney.

What do you think would be a good best all around player point system. .1st gets it all or pay top 1-10. Anyone with any ideas on how to go about it let me know. Also what do you and others think the prize pool should be and how should it be destibuted?

Thanks.

To answer questions regarding the airport shuttle. If my memory serves me correctly the shuttle from the airport runs on the 15 and 45 minute mark of the hour and runs on the top of the hour and half hour from the hotel. It's a quick 5 minute ride to and from and is a courtesy shuttle that is free. If you don't want to wait for it you can take a cab each way that runs about $10-$12 dollars.

Thanks to all for the cab and shuttle info. I would normally get a car so my wife could get out golfing, but we are not there long this trip and rentals seemed silly expensive last I checked. Less than a month away now!

For player of the series, maybe seats to Future Main Events or Seats to smaller events?

One thing LAPC seems to do well is make sure all prelim winners get a main event seat. (from prize pool or added by the casino) This can help keep early winners around longer and and draw more interest for players to go for player of the series

Maybe for all prelim events you can advertise any prize pool over X will give 1st place (maybe 2nd or 3rd pending the prize pool) a main event seat.

Rake $5 from every tournament entry in the series. Distribute points on a sliding scale to everyone that cashes in every event. Pay top 5 or just a grand prize for the best series performance. Would be lots of fun and the prize could wind up being significant enough to matter to many people.

If you feel people are not committing to staying for the duration of the series, an overall points leader prize would go a long way to enticing them to stay.

Make it happen PLEASE!

I think a couple components could easily be to recognize a best lcoal player--someone that plays in the poker room regularly. Selfishly, since I am travelling from NC and won't be able to take in a full series until retired, I like the idea of dviding the series into segments where the best of three or four segments get something, and then there is an overall champion. So, for upcoming event with 31 events and five prizes--have lcoal champion of entire series, overalll champion and three segment champs, events 1-10, 11-20 and 21-30. Overall champ excluded from being the segment champ.

Here is the link to all structures for our upcoming event. Structures are generally the same as in previous tournaments with the exception of the $500 and Main event where I added the 250-500 level.

Any recommendations on golf courses open to the public? Room to make a big mistake in the words of the Dixie Chicks preferred. Drove up to Tahoe and played Edgewood in the fall.

Thanks dtf13. All three look very nice from their web pages. At Arrowcreek the upper course is the Legends or the Challenge? Both look pretty spectacular, but from the photos Challenge appeared to have the wider fairways. Do you know if Hidden Valley is open to public? At Red Hawk, they have Lakes and Hills courses--any preference? Looks like Friday 5/18 is a golf day as all the GSR POG events are qualifiers for Saturday and I fly home Saturday. Are you doing any of the events? I'll be playing 5/16 and 5/17.

Arrow creek challenge course is better. Hidden Valley used to be private, not sure about now. I like Red Hawk Lakes course. I'll be around the weekend of the Main.

I honestly think you guys spread your self too thin by doing too much of these every year. Why not one or two and get even bigger field? Last time i was there it was dead.

Steve, you must have been there at 10 in the morning. Every time I go to a POG event it's crazy busy. Last event I played there at the Winter POG there were 177 entries into a $340 tournament. Usually by 7 or 8 at night the main poker room is full of 1/2, 2/5 (and sometimes weekend 5/10) tables and they're already spilling out into the tournament area.

This.....

It may be to many, we will find out and see. Just thought we would try it and see what the response is. It was an open slot for us here in Reno since another property decided not to do the event they do always during this time slot. If it doesn't work out we will probably look another direction.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah I was wondering what was happening with that. I've been looking at their website wondering if they forgot to post it or I missed something.

+1 to a player of the series getting a seat into the main, gives me more incentive to play the other events besides the 500 and the main.

Chris,

Just steal PokerStars's POY formula or call Matt Savage and ask him what he does. Whatever you do, don't consult with Grumpy.
