So the weekend crowd not only has to deal with a Tuesday Day 2, a Wednesday Day 3 but also has to stomach the 3k taken out of the prizepool for the grinders playing all the day 1s......brilliant!

All a bunch of you guys are doing is crying and complaining...

They are adding $600,000 into this whole series!!! That is $600K taken from us local cash game players here $1 at a time from each pot they rake for an entire year for this promotion. So all you out-of-towners who don't like it - DON'T PLAY IT!!! Stop crying, find another casino out there that pumps $600K into their local series... not many do. It's going to be an epic event #1 with over 4K entries I will be willing to guess that it will be over 5K with the $3K incentive they are giving out. Yes, not everything is perfect, but when you try to accommodate thousands of players who will attend this series, there will always be someone unhappy with something, the schedule, the dates, the prize pool etc.

As far as the HU getting changed to $5K, I am really not pleased with that either, it was fine at $1K and it will shut out a lot of players who ordinarily would play it, but when you consider that 22 out of the 64 seats will be given away to local tournament donks who have no clue how to play HU... It's def a +EV event for the ones that can afford to pony up the $5K.

Obviously these changes are made so they can maximize the number of players that play their daily tourneys, the 1st Event, all the turbos and the sattys because they will make a killing on the rake, but again considering that they are giving away over $400K worth of FREE Seats, a ton of cash overlay, $50,000 for Point Leader and a $38,000 Car for Turbo Point Leader... I am not going to bitch about it too much. Now, stop crying... take a few much needed days off work, get your **s out here and make some easy $$$.

The way I read it, you can only receive one $3000 prize for making day 2.

"Players surviving multiple Day 1's will carry over the largest chip stack for the duration of the tournament and will receive $3000 and one player point (smaller stack must be forfeited)."

Notice it doesn't say $3000 for each forfeited stack.

If I survive to Day-2 four times, I receive $3000, receive 1 player point, and continue the tourney with my largest stack, forfeiting my 3 smaller stacks.

Am I correct?

Can anyone please clarify?

It is multiple...you can make up to 15k, if you make it through every night

only think about 10-15 players will make multiple day 2's.....not as easy as you think

interesting what your theoretical way to maximize ev is

probably won't to make one day 2 as quickly as possible in the series and take it from there

if you play all 6 days 1 buyin each i came up with about 22% chance you make at least two day twos if you are an above average player

they add money so they can charge higher rake and still get good turnout

they aren't being super generous or anything

they are definitely screwing over cash game players a ton

Obviously it has been a great series but they just screwed up the schedule so bad this year. And to be fair the vast majority of the added $$$ goes into cash game promotions, daily tourny promotion, player of the series which doesn't really help someone going up for the weekend. I'm only playing the main this year.

There's a $130 5 pm tournament on 2/23 as shown in the OP. Is that still scheduled and if so is it assumed to be the same structure as the $100 structures listed above?

I asked about that. the 5pm is a misprint. All nightly tourneys are at 8pm

Did you actually confirm this with someone at the casino? If not, I don't think it can be derived from the way they worded it. And as we know from last year, they are not always careful with their wording.

I was wondering the same thing, whether this was just your take on it or it had been officially confirmed by the casino.

I emailed them directly and will update if/when they respond. I'd prefer something in writing rather than calling and getting an answer from some random that answers the phone.

This is wrong..i confirmed with multiple members of the floor staff in person that you can only be awarded the 3k Bonus ONCE..and that so once you make day 2 twice there is no monetary reward for continuing to play more day 1's.

15K is the maximum win if you can qualify all six days + everyone that makes day two is automatically in the money. I just called the room. 219-473-7000 ask for poker

if everyone that makes it to day 2 gets 3k, I wonder how far they play on day 1. Anyone know this? I'm assuming they would play down to less of the field than normal?

You only get 3k if you make day 2 a SECOND time. That 3k is completely outside of the normal payout. 3k is NOT the min-cash.

However, you are guaranteed a min-cash if you make day 2. Each day 1 is playing down to about 12% of the field, so they will be stopping at different points in the tournament, then I assume they are rolling back the blinds to a reasonable level based on the shortest day 1.

Also, my guess is that the min-cash will probably be very small, maybe even like 1.2x the buy-in. They are paying 12% (20% more than usual) and also taking out at least a few 3k bonuses. They aren't going to take all of that out of the top end.
