What's the best way to get from NYC to Borgata? On google maps, looks like it's 3.5 hours by public transit and > 2 hours by car. Is there like a shuttle or anything? Anyone going down Saturday morning?

No great way to get there. If you could make it to Philly you could take "Tropiano Transportation" (Allen Kessler $50 Special) straight to Borgata's front door and same way back, fly outa PHL.

Chinatown corner of bowery and division st. There is a glass booth ticket counter. 9 am-1am every 2 or 3 hours bus to caesars/balleys $25 ticket round trip good for 2 days. You also get $20 slot play and $20 free bet vouchers.

how is there not a single tournament that starts and ends on the weekend that is 1k+, it is truly mind boggling

well there's only four $1k+ tourns. and three of them are at least 3 day events. but I do agree the $1k event 10 should have been scheduled for a weekend

It's even more mind boggling that someone who could afford to play a 1K tournament can't afford to take off some time from work... Really ?? Enjoy the series. No one does it better on the east coast. #bigpicture #degenproblems

Can anyone down there tell me which day the 1k six max starts? The mobile sheets columns are not aligned when you look at them. I can't tell if it starts Thursday at 11 am or Friday.

I have 23 vacation days and *can* afford to take days off of work, but will continue to choose other places to play that are more conducive to rec players. As someone who will have to travel to Borgata to play, it's a minimum of 3 days off to get through just day 2. I just returned from Seminole where I was prepared to fire all 3 day 1s if needed, and thanks to a 6pm flight back on Monday, only needed 3 days of vacation to get through half of day 3, even with the extra opportunities. If they had followed the Borgata schedule with the first day 1 on Sunday, I would have needed to use an entire week of vacation for that one tournament.

Looking back on vacation for last year, I had-
2 days for WPT Fallsview
3 days for social obligations
5 days for my first WSOP trip
5 days for my second WSOP trip
3 days for Winstar (had to extend to a 4th day)
1.5 days for WSOPc Chicago

Which left 3.5 days left in reserve in case I needed to extend any of those trips (which I did for WinStar, resulting in 2.5 carryover). I still managed to play 30 tournaments, but that was mostly thanks to finding things that I could travel to and play without vacation days. I know the "take a vacation day, it's nbd!" response is easy if you aren't working a 9-5, but when you actually plot them out, even someone who gets a lot like me can see how quickly they disappear.

Borgata does a lot of things very well. This is not one of them, and it remains the singular factor for why I continue to play everywhere but there.

Yea I have no idea why they wouldn't start day 1s on a Sunday for majors. Maybe its a space issue?

I assume you mean "would", as the vast majority of their majors are Sunday and Monday for the day 1s. I am of the belief (and note: this is a belief, this is not a fact) that they do this because they routinely sell out the hotel Friday and Saturday nights at elevated rates already, so they feel it is in their best interest to have Sunday/Monday be the day 1s, and increase occupancy on less pricey days (as well as freeing poker tables to be used for cash on Fridays/Saturdays, not need extra dealers, etc). This could very well be a valid opinion held by them, and I don't fault them for doing so. As a rec player, this is about as bad as possible scheduling for me (outside of starting day 1s on a Monday or Tuesday), so I respectfully choose to frequent other places that schedule differently.
