Sounds like it won't be a problem. Will PS be running satelites for the 'High Rollers' event?

Direct Buy-in Information
Players who would like to register in advance for APPT Macau (and be guaranteed a seat) should e-mail registrations@pokerstars.net to receive instructions on sending their payment by wire transfer or bank draft. Players may purchase one or a combination of a main event entry, a High Rollers event entry, or an accommodation package at the Grand Waldo hotel, depending on availability.

The deadline for advance payment by wire transfer or bank draft is generally two weeks before the event.

Please note that players can also buy in directly on-site at the casino.

But what if he means APT Macau, which is independent and has qualifiers on several sites, and not APPT Macau, the PokerStars vehicle?

There's already been merging and unmerging of threads confusing the APT and the APPT. With both of them on the same location in back to back weeks coming up.....have fun, mods!

Whoops, sorry about that. Site sparse as yet:

"The Asian Poker Tour Macau will be held at the StarWorld Hotel and Casino from the 27th to 31st of August 2008 with the buy-in at US$5,000+$300. "

Any idea about PS satellites to the APPT Macau High Rollers event?

Yes, I will be the Tournament Director for the tour and working out the details for that this week.

Satellites are currently or will be running soon on

The IPoker Network
PKR
Party Poker
Bodog
3D
Virgin

And we hope to get Full Tilt, UB, 888, and even PokerStars to run some as well. Please contact your favorite site to have them run satellites as the APT is open to all of them.

Does anyone know whether there will be live satellites running for either the APT or APPT Macau (man, they should have come up with better names!).

Also, which sites are running online satellites to either of these?

Thanks in advance.

Bodog has some interesting satellites going. Including freerolls (5 poker points) to qualify for a seat giveaway on August 2nd. Total package is $8000. You'll need all of that and then some for the trip!

Question for Matt Savage:

What time does the tournament start? I see the dates but not the times.

You also mentioned say 1b. Do you really expect a field that large? It will take 300 players to make the 1.5 million guaranteed. How many do you anticipate?

Long flight (and high cost) for those of us on the East Coast. Upwards of 30+ hours and $1400 is the best price I can find. Unfortunately, that flight arrives at 9am on 8/26, the day the tourney starts.

Last but not least, 2 of the 3 links for the suggested hotels do not actually have a website. Not a good sign.

The tournament starts at noon on the 28th and 29th. The first events (Megas, SnG's, and One Tables) start on the 27th.

I will check on the links to the hotels

We should have 300-400 and we will have 25-30 tables
