Did anyone here have any issues with wired money to the WSOP cage? Travelling in 10 days from Europe, considering wiring most of the roll, and then cash out some of it upon arrival for spending money.

I just got a WSOP rate at Harrah's. Mostly $42 a night but more on the weekend obv. It says you have to present a "WSOP seat card" upon checking in to receive the rate. Do I really have to go to the RIO, register for something, and come back to Harrah's with a tournament registration card? I'm assuming they prob won't even ask for it at check in? Anyone have any input?

Its been a couple years since I registered with the WSOP rates, but back then they never checked anything directly. There's always a chance they somehow "knew" through my TR account, but they never asked me to present any proof of entry, at check-in or at any other time.

Maybe their policy has changed, though even if it has, I doubt you would need to show anything at check-in. Just hold on to your receipt and show it (if necessary) at any time after check-in.

It's been awhile for me too, but they said they would charge me the non-discount rate until I showed up with the tourney receipt. So I went and got the receipt and took it back to the front desk. This was at the Rio, maybe other hotels are different.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping that a daily deepstack would suffice if they insist on me showing one?

Dunno. I was required to have a receipt for a bracelet event, but that was before they had daily deepstacks.

before the bachelor party

Actually, I'm sure Monday night would be fine.

We all know, the performance of poker players do not not actually reflect the reality of their results.

Until 2013, the management of the WSOP published the entrants lists of every event, allowing to know (after some tedious calculations) the return on investment of the players and therefore the "real" wsop ranking.

So, that simple question : who are the "famous" poker players (ie world top #100) that always publish each of their entries (ideally on their twitter account) ?

I will tell you later more about this project, that is not intended to make money or humiliate a particular professional about his bad luck, but just focused to have the actual ranking of the WSOP 2015.
I think there is a more fundamental reason why WSOP and other big MTT venues should publish the entire day1 entry list. Gives stakers confirmation that their horses actually played the events they promised. Please revisit this old marketplace thread to see how this exact issue can rear its ugly head...

Perhaps not, but if it's about the overall "poker experience", it's an easy fix and something they should just do.

A couple years back there was an online portal where you could check player registrations - is this still avail?

The WSOP should care because a LOT of the action is staked the fields (and thus the rake) would be much smaller without the investments.

Any chance that Oklahoma Johnny will be 'promoted' to the super senior's event this year, so we don't have listen to him ramble on ad infinitum -- delaying the start time for us 'regular' Senior's?

The wait times for payouts is beyond brutal. One person serving then two then back to one. Surely they could have 5 or 6 staff on at once given they have desks setup to payout at least 7 people at any one time.

It is absurd. Went in and saw 5 people in line so went to grab my cash out and it took 30 minutes to get thru 6 people with two people doing it. WTF

Wow, that is awful. It's understandable that it gets a little nuts right after the bubble bursts in a massive tourney, but to see a short line and still have to wait forever would be a bit tilting.

For those that don't know, you can collect your winnings for cashing a tourney at any point in the series, up to some point in mid-July. So if you come up on a big line, consider coming back at a later time when there aren't a lot of bust outs happening.

Right it is silly to bitch about a long line when the colossus bubble bursts or something. But if you can't avoid the problem no matter when you come it is pretty annoying. No need they need to copy my DL, key in the expiration date of my ID, etc then print out something then go to another window where my $3600 gets counted four times. I didn't even have to get a W2-G!!!!

Do they give you a ticket of some sort when you bust out? If so can you wait until the next day or later to cash it in?

Yes they give you a ticket and put you in the computer system. You can go back any time until the end of the series and collect your payout
