We'll be happy to answer any questions you have about the series or the WPT.

First question: Is this a WPT Main Event?

Yes, this is a WPT Main Event in Season XIV.

Could a Party rep come in and give us a break down of what is included in the package? The website doesn't provide this info.

We haven't published the blind structures yet - we're rushing to get all of that done as we just came out of our last series earlier this week. In fact, I'm working on getting full structures ready this weekend to publish on Monday.

That being said, except for small details, for most events the structure is quite stable from series to series, and if you visit here: http://www.playgroundpoker.ca/special-events you can see the Event pages for past events and find full structure sheets there.

Also if you have a specific question I can probably answer it right now. I know the real goal of seeing the structure is to get a solid overview of how the whole thing is put together... but let me know if I can help before the rules and structure sheets are ready.

Now - as far as the partypoker packages are concerned - you can win a $4500 package which is a $3500 entry in the WPT and $1K in spending money, plus onsite they take care of their qualifiers pretty well in my experience.

It looks like you lowered the rake on the main event.

If so, nice job!

So there's no hotel just the seat and cash? Any suggestions for hotels?

I would hope that a Party rep can confirm this... as the exchange rate is 1-1.25 and this tourney is played in Canadian funds which makes this ridiculous barring a reasonable explanation.

Sorry to derail this thread as the Playground is an excellent venue that really knows how to take care of poker players. But for me to try and satellite in online I'm going to need an explanation.

I think the package is 2.8k USD (the buyin) plus 1.7k USD into your account for expenses.

2.8k USD = 3.5k Canadian @ 1-1.25 rate

I'm not sure whether a Party rep will come here but we'll do our best to get answers and post them.

My answer was based on their Canadian page for the promo: http://www.partypoker.net/promotions...mpionship.html

We're trying something different this time. So there's a 3-Day $1100 WPT Warm Up (which we've done before) but also a $1650 Second Chance tourney as well - which is to say I think it's a very attractive schedule for players who like bigger events but more accessible than the WPT + High Roller.

Don't worry, the High Roller will be back in the future!

Hey Mike, how come Party Poker ads aren't saying anything about it being in Montreal or at Playground this time around? Is there a possibility that it might get moved to Casino Montreal or somewhere else?

NO nothing is being moved! This is a Playground Poker Club event/series that is sponsored by Partypoker.net.

I'm not sure which ads you're referring to or who did the creative but if there is any doubt about this then something is missing from the ad.

The TV commercials and the link that you posted have no mention of where the event is going to be held. Could be confusing for some.

Hmmm. Yes, you're correct. In the fine print it does say it's in Montreal, but it's not super obvious that it's here.

Certain media will promote the sponsor uniquely while others will focus on the venue. One thing is clear though, the WPT Canadian Spring Championship is 100% happening at Playground.

I remember wondering what the venues were when I won for WPT Vienna & WPT Newcastle as they were not listed in the promotion page too, but all three venues are listed at http://www.partypoker.com/whats-goin...ason-XIII.html - "Playground Poker Club, Montreal."

What's more worrisome is that most of the WPT CSC satellites have disappeared. There are only three satellites per day, and no more $10 or $50 22:50 EDT satellites.

Wow been talking a bunch to friends that the WPT main should be in spring (esp due to falling attendance in November.) This is fantastic news. Curious to why only 2 day 1's this time around. Don't hate the change but curious if it's only 1 entry per flight. If so, I think 3 flights is preferred. Congrats on getting a good job from AK!! Strong stuff all around, now just a bit more noise about this being an actual WPT main and the rake improvement. Big news deserves to be heard by the masses.

It's branded differently-they've had large spring tourneys but this one is the first one that's a WPT.

Hey guys. Awesome that there's some excitement about this!

So here's some history and clarification.

The WPT Montreal has been held in the fall since 2012, and in 2013 and 2014 it was a full televised event.

The WPT Canadian Spring Championship has been held in the spring since 2013. The first year it was a $3K+ WPT Main event, but last year it was a $1.1K WPT National Event. So this year is exciting because we're going back to hosting a second "big" WPT event.

The trick is that this isn't a replacement for the WPT Montreal - this is it's own event.

I think this will be better answered in the live mtt section instead of mttsng, so I'll move it there.
