This is horrible why have day two be on a wednesday... Kills anyone coming from out of town. Ppl who work cant play in this unless you live close. Everytime a tourney has this kind of schedule they put day 2/final day on sunday or monday. A lot easier for ppl who work to come for a weekend and make day 2 to have to take a day off work for a day 2/final day.

They're giving away a ton of Main Event Seats just like they did for WSOPC. I amend my numbers projection to 500 total entries.

Yeah they're giving away 250 seats total it looks like which are worth 1500 each. That's not including all the ME add on seats for the nightlies or satellites.

It has six day ones. It is not tailored for working people. It is tailored for pros and deep pockets and to build up the prize pool. There will be people who cash on 1A and 1B and then are essentially freerolling 1C through 1F to build up as large a stack as possible, as happened with the Chicago Classic.

If you are satisfied with earning a min cash by making it through a single day one (I like that part, and greatly dislike the trend of having about 30% of the field make it through day one and have to return to play day 2 without being in the money) then play. If you are thinking of making a deep run, realize that you will be at a huge disadvantage to those who can play all six day ones.

I'm not sure I agree with being at a huge disadvantage. If you clear day 1 with a 100 chips, then you are at a disadvantage. If you are in the top 5 then life is good. It's actually maybe even better. Let's say mr deep pockets plays all 6 days and places in each, but at his best he is in top 15 one of the days. He takes that one stack with him. But the best part is he wipes out 5 other potential entries - puts you higher up in the winnings.

Now if the stacks were cumulative then you would be at a disadvantage. But they are not. If your stack was great it can easily hold up - if its not good it's not good. I wouldn't worry about mr deep pockets.

Thanks for the shout out! lol

Depending on the structure and starting chip stack, which I believe will be 10k, I will likely play all 6.

Lol - hey, at least I said you would place in all 6 too!! I'm hoping to do well enough in one to bankroll the others! But my luck is all 6 days will be chasing for a single spot and not just the best stack.

Hopefully we will see some details soon. And maybe they will finally post a payout schedule as well!

Lot of threads on this site about re-entries and who they benefit, (it ain't the guy with one bullet or who can only play one day of six day ones) so I'll leave it at that, aside from noting that many serious local players will know of a deep pockets guy who did quite well at the similarly structured Chi Classic.

3 days later, any structures yet for the main? Guessing they will use something similar to the WSOP CE Main structure.

I just spoke with the floor and they said they believed the structures were available online now. I haven't checked but it seems we should be seeing it soon if it isn't up already.

No 250/500 2500/5000 in the main...

Get rid of 25/50. Meaningless level and add 2500/5000 25k/50k. Both way more important levels. For most of the field, won't add much more time but critical for money bubble/ITM.

$200+$60 confirmed for Event 1. Just under 77%.

They must have taken a page out of the Horseshoe Southern Indiana tournament book.

At least they've got a guarantee.

was the similar event in Chicago this absurd of rake? I was looking forward to playing this, and I'll probably still play the main but 200+60 is the worst Ive ever heard of

It seems they have a lot of faith in event 1 as it has a 500k guarantee with no free seats given out through promotions. With only 200 going to the pot per entry that means they believe they will get more than 2,500 individual entries (the break-even number).

Seems a bit strange they give away seats to the main for winners of bounty tourneys then have the bounty freeroll on day two of the main

Pretty excited about this.

Last year at the Chicago Poker Classic, the buy-in was $350 with $1 mill GTD. 6 starting flights and they paid $3k for any additional stacks you took to Day 2.

They did take the $3k cash from the prize pool - The Prize pool was a little over $1.4 Million + and they took around $300k from that, leaving the actual prize pool around $1.1 million.

Everyone that made Day 2 was in the money, and the payouts were extremely top heavy. They had approx. 5,200 entries and a little over 500 made day 2.

I ended up firing only 2 bullets and placed in 183rd for $699 (Lost $1 LOL) First place was around $170k

Also, I'm sure the reason with a lot of the similarities to the Chi-classic is that Jason Newman is the Poker Room Manager for Cincinnati, he was the poker room manager for Horseshoe Hammond prior to Cincy being open.
