I'm all about having more OE events, and am planning to play $535 in LA, but where do you get the notion that "This has been popular on ftp for some time"? I have never seen a single OE tournament on full tilt, and outside of a very very rare microstakes cash game, OE cash never runs.

Anybody know where to stay close to commerce casino?
I checked the rate with double tree for 3 weeks including the internet and it is $129 per night. Total of a little over 3k for 3 weeks(jan18-feb8). Looking for something in the 2k range for 3 weeks. You guys know any better deals? Last year Matt recommended embassy suites and I stayed there and it was very nice and all but far from commerce and the shuttles didnt run. Looking to stay somewhere closer.

We have also arrange them to waive the $9.99 daily internet charge during the extent of your stay. They will provide shuttle service to the casino upon request based on availability. The Commerce will also provide shuttle services as well. Just mention the LAPC to secure this rate.

As Allen says, this is a clean option that is 3.3 miles away. After checking the site, you can secure a queen bed for $65/nt or 2 queens for $75/nt.

Thank you for the great info guys. Will most likely be booking with embassy suite again this year as I have some company. Just wanted to make sure I get the shuttle service. They did not have that last year for me.

Sorry it did not happen last year. I have been working with Isela Ramos from the Embassy Suites and she has told me that the hotel shuttle will be available as long as it does not have prior commitments. Also, we will be making a schedule for our shuttle to go to/from the casino. Just figuring out the intervals right now.

Ok Skinny, when do regular sattys start up for LAPC? I believe I went down a week before the first event or at least 4 days before. Can you give me when and what times and if they will be downstairs again (until tournament starts up)?

Single Table Satellites will start on Friday, January 14th at 10AM and will run til midnight. Buy-ins will range from $40-$120 for about the 1st week. They will be downstairs in the Galleria from the 14th-18th of January. From the 19th on, they will obviously be in the ballroom.

I apologize for the inconvenience. I spoke to Isela Ramos and she said that the rates are in the computer. She believe that since you called the 800 number, you were sent to central booking for all Embassy Suites Resorts rather than the Downey location and they are not aware of special rates given by any individual property. Below is the flyer for the LAPC from Embassy Suites. If you follow these direction, I am sure you will be able to secure your room. Let me know if you any other problem.

Doubletree is the nuts as far as location and cookies. $129 is a little high... you can book the room for $110 if you prepay. Not a ton cheaper, but a bit.

If you're looking for straight up cheap, then there's a Motel 6 in Bell Gardens for $56/night, but of course that's a couple of miles away and no shuttle.

Your only other shot is to try your hand at Priceline.com and hope to get the Doubletree. I've got it as cheap as $59/night that way, but I doubt you'll be able to lock it up for 2-3 weeks.

Hope this helps, good luck.
