I think a more interesting bet would be if there will be any NON-HOLDEM 21 yo winners in this year's WSOP. It seems to me there is a reasonable chance in PLO, but not too sure about other events. Not to say that younger players can't/don't do well at the other games, but it seems like most of the experience 21 yo's have is in Hold'em.

I am 21 and I am going to be playing a HORSE event this year, STUD 8 and 1 PLO8 event. Event 43, 47, 51. So maybe I will be a 21 year old bracelet winner in a game outside of Hold em turn prophet...

I feel like I have the best chance of any 21 year old this year of accomplishing this. I think I have a much bigger edge in limit tournaments than I do in NLHE tournaments. If I don't final table a non NL game this year I'll be very disappointed.

Then I'm pulling for ya Jimmy.

I think most decent players would have a comparable/better edge in some of the game like O8 or 7CS. The fields are smaller, and despite what some have claimed about being overrun by specialists, these fields are generally quite weak, with some players making incredibly basic mistakes.

Really? Am curious as to why, not doubting your ability but expecting to final table and not just praying to get there seems awfully optimistic. Confidence is good but the variance will be pretty high. In closing I wish you luck and hope you make two final tables but in case you don't I hope you aren't too disappointed.

Whether or not I expect to doesn't matter on how I'll feel afterwards.

If I final table a tournament and lose, I'm disappointed no matter what my chances were of winning. I have high hopes for myself and think I'm super +EV in the limit tournaments I'm going to be playing. My odds of winning a bracelet this year may be bad but if I don't win one I'll still be disappointed.

In my next few interviews, this is one of the questions that I'm going to ask all the pros I talk to (well, at least the younger ones that would know of the newly-21 crowd).

This week's is Justin Bonomo, should be up tomorrow.

G/L Jimmy, take 'em down. I talked with Robl recently about his excitement level for the WSOP events and his chances at a bracelet, but he surprised me by saying he may not even play in many events as he considers himself a cash game pro only. He admitted he may change his mind before the series starts, though - I personally suspect he will. The lure of potential fame in the WSOP is too much even for me. (-:
