Hi everyone

I am holidaying in Vegas In September. Can anyone recommend places to get good Vegan food there? Special thanks to anyone that knows of a Vegan buffet... I lurve Vegan buffet

Never heard of a Vegan buffet and I live in a major city.

I've never seen a totally vegan buffet before, but here in Toronto I have been to two vegetarian/vegan restaurants that both had buffets.

FlyingRat - If you want an argument you won't get it from me. Let me ask you though, how is it a simple question like mine pulls people idiots like you from out of the woodwork? I would never even consider posting something designed to offend yours, or anyone elses choice of lifestyle or diet. Yet you seem to think it is ok.

Doesn't have to be a totally Vegan place by any means, just good Vegan food. London has a few Vegan buffet's, so thats what I was going on. The buffet thing was a shot in the dark in any case.

What is it about someone choosing not to eat animals that offends Americans so much? Again, not here to argue, discuss politics etc etc.

Would the question be better recieved if I mentioned that I am a Vegan due to serious food allergies? Which makes it a disability. In that light it makes it sort of like telling someone to stop being so damn lazy and walk if they ask about wheelchair access.

I am not all that familiar with the actual Vegan diet but most buffets in Vegas have pretty good salad sections. You could just skip all the stuff you prefer not to eat and likely still find a lot of stuff that would be good for you. That is one of the beautiful things about buffets in Vegas, huge variety. I have eaten at the Spice Market Buffet at the Planet Hollywood and it seemed to have a huge selection of very different things. I can't promise but it might be worth a try??

I know I have seen the thing discussed somewhere on 2+2 but I can't remember which forum it was on and it was a long time ago.

I know nothing about a vegan diet, though I would imagine them to be stringy and a bit tough. Blanched perhaps, or steamed, I could see that working, or marinated for a long time, and then grilled. Pan fried? No way in heck. Poaching them would be a disaster.

Perhaps pickling? You could try smoking them I suppose, but they would surely kick up a fuss.

rly? I've found that after a few months they tend to become soft and fat and lacking in lean tissue for consumption. I don't think its a good choice in ones diet

A raw foods restaurant which appears to be all vegan as well. Their full menu is listed on their website, which is a nice touch. I've eaten at the West location (see below) several times and the food is always very impressive -- even my non-vegetarian, now-raw friend suggested we eat there more frequently. Prices are a tad higher than you might expect, but if you want gourmet vegan raw food, this is it.

I had pretty much given up on this thread. Surprised to see a couple of serious (and very good) answers.

There is a big donut place in Vegas, 90% vegan, Ronald's donuts. Looks lkike a major treat.
