Yeah. We bought a home last year and I was really "worried" about whether or not we'd get trick-or-treaters. After living in an apartment for like 9 years and getting exactly 1 family of kids over that span come to my door, I was hoping for 20 kids but I think we got probably 60+ which was awesome. And it was spread over a few hours so I got to sit out front and get my drink on and scare kids all night. It was awesome. I live in a lower-middle-class neighborhood (maybe middle-middle) so a lot of the kids who came by also happened to be parents. lol.

Make sure you decorate your house and make it very obvious that you have candy and are in the spirit. We set chairs out front and had out bowl out there with scary music playing and all that ****. Halloween is the ****ing best day ever.

My house gets 250+ kids on Halloween. I give out 4 bags of Costco Halloween candy every year.

Lots of kids playing out in the streets. Seemed like there were always big groups (always more then 5) of kids playing or walking out in the street me included. Now in neighborhoods the streets are pretty empty. Guess everyone is busy with video games and tv.

Don't care to debate the merits of whether or not it is good for you. I only know that corn syrup gives me massive heartburn, even if it is in juice, thus it is "crap" in my experience.

Back to the thread:

I'm sure there are still address books and tie dyed shirts, but they were quite ubiquitous back the the early 90s and before.

Tie die is still around a little, but how about those t-shirts that changed color?

Meanwhile, lol at anyone who thinks corn syrup tastes different from, or effects one differently from, sugar.

This still contains no analysis. I'll start.

For one, there is a difference between sucrose (cane sugar) and glucose, maltose, oligosaccharides, and fructose (all potentially in corn syrup). There is a growing body of work (Medscape article here, free registration required)that shows that these different sugars do in fact affect many people differently, perhaps as much as 15% of the population.

I don't wish to derail, but these sugars do taste different and they certainly do affect a significant minority of the population people differently.

When you can't safely stuff anything and everything in your mouth, you actually pay attention to the chemicals that go in.

Nutrition is about as scientific and dogmatic as religion.

Next, they'll tell you and I that we are too extreme in our dieting, despite doctor's orders to not go near the stuff. LOL @ anyone that thinks X is different that Z.

I guess they still exist, but pneumatic tubes at drive-up teller stations. Come to think of it, I can't think of the last time I saw a drive-up teller either.

The milkshakes were switched a few years back. My favorite as a kid was strawberry. I would freeze it on Friday and eat it watching cartoons on Saturday, oh the memories!
