Brie Larson complains about the lack of POC and women reviewing The Marvels has resulted in bad reviews because white males dominate the movie review industry and review movies they shouldn't review, I guess. I read reviews on Ebert and The NY Times, both written by women, who thought it a mess.
Jesus Christ on a bicycle.
She made those comments several years ago and not in connection with Captain Marvel. Some defenders of The Marvels are now parroting them to explain the bad reviews.

Lol, thank you for saying it. Felt like i was crazy hearing so many get it wrong. It’s bizarre how people will pounce on a thing (pretty girl BAD) because they want it to be true.
If you’re hating on Brie, you’ve got problems blud.
the way youtube shows results is not efficiently shared via screenshots - especially with the shorts integration and to just show a video clip is meaningless because you can cherry pick those
did it via incognito so it will be generic results not something tailored to me cause i'm a hater
you'll see half the top results are about why she sucks
below that her own channel and then more of "why do people hate brie"
go down further past the general stuff they mix in - again why this is not efficient
and a lot of channels that focus on dale carnegie type stuff often use her as an example of her just sucking
I fail to see the connection between clickbait YouTube search results and verifiable truths.
But whatever, the point was that the original criticism ITT was from misattribution as Rooksx pointed out. People are using her previous comments from years ago and acting like they’re new comments about The Marvels.

curious, what exactly do you think i was claiming?
edit: added the quote so if you delete this one it doesn't look like i'm yelling at clouds
nice ninja deletion though to make my post with the screenshots appear like an unhinged thing out of the blue and not a response to your nonsense
good work bruh
I deleted it before you posted your response because I realized you were just pulling a rick and didn’t want to engage further. But then, you posted lightning fast and now I can’t undelete my deleted post, but I did feel bad that you took screenshots and such so I replied to your hard work.

The Killer from Fincher and Fassbender last night.
Honestly -- a bit underwhelmed.
I am surprised the reviews are as good as they are. And I really wanted to like it more, as I'm a huge fan of both F&F. Stylistically it has a lot of elements that ooze Fincher but there are some scenes like the main fight scene that are fun but quite a mess. It's also nothing that standout from a story perspective.
I dunno, it feels maybe like another 30-45 minutes that were left on the cutting floor. I feel this way about a lot of Netflix movies, not sure if it is studio related but it feels like it is.

Came in to post pretty much exactly this. Huge fan of both director and actor, was expecting a lot, and just felt like Fincher completely mailed it in here. Extremely underwhelming and yeah really surprised at the reviews.
Also have same opinion of Netflix movies, I feel like they are all missing something and are rather bland.
Found it interesting that Fincher had Pitt in mind for the main role but BP turned it down bc he found it too dark.
The marvels... one hundred and five minutes of pure MCU gold! I thought Brie was reasonable in KONG.
I was thinking last night (I know, I even surprised myself), and I tried to classify the BEST superhero films.
With all the commercial success and critical acclaim that the MCU has over the last decade and a half, the best Films for my money were all Detective Comics movies... Joker, The Dark Knight, The Batman.

I am depressing, I know.
You’re not wrong! I was recently thinking the same thing while The Dark Knight was on in the background at work.
When DC doesn’t try to be Marvel (a la Justice League), the films are much stronger than the latter. The three flicks you mentioned have way more lasting power than Marvel’s top entries such as Winter Soldier and Infinity War.
Nobody has taken up Mschu's offer of money to see The Marvels and review.
shoot me your Pay Pal addy... I will send you 15 bucks. Must be in the Theater
you had better hurry, I am not sure this movie will last more than 3-4 weeks... it might be streaming in less than a week.
I used to play in a Big-O game that would have 5 flat screens tuned to Fox News, and the terror she struck in the hearts of the Right was something to behold. They couldn't go 5 minutes without attacking her. I was totally confused. Didn't they realize they were giving her the best promo she could possibly get? Bizarre.
Nuns with flapping wimples: Now we’re in a hospital? No, it’s an airport!
Then it’s off to the:
Tour Bus full of Middle-Aged American Ladies twittering like a flock of sparrows; Hotel/Flower Vendor/Corporate HQ/Trade Show/Cube Farm/Apartment Pods/Supper Club/NightClub: All in a time when people dress to kill!
So little time in the Army: So many old friends!
A B&W movie shot in color: The film’s beginning color palette is composed entirely of the blue-gray. A bellhop walks by carrying a bunch of flowers and colors leap from the screen.
B&W Portraits in the corporate waiting room have Red Legions of Honor: Boutonnieres!
Auditorily lush: A silent movie with a soundtrack!
I watched it on Kanopy while wearing earbuds. The effect was like listening to those stereo-demonstration records from the 60s. Beautiful.
A Buster Keaton film without the chase scenes: Sight gags, sight gags, sight gags!
An Automat without the nickels; kazoo bands; restaurants under construction; jitterbugging to Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams.
The movie is totally incomprehensible and meant to be that way. About an hour into the movie, I lost all sense of reality and began floating above the action displayed on the screen.
