Has anyone else heard about the Homosexual nature of the movie The Shining?
I had never hear about this theory, but it does have some legs.

Everything Everywhere All At Once - Michelle Yeoh is brilliant whether showing her dramatic, comedic or fighting chops. The fights are both well choreographed and funny. The plot is mad and somewhat lost steam towards the end, or maybe that's just because I didn't quite understand what was going on. My brother and I disagreed over the internal logic of the mulltiverse -he thought the film ignored whatever rules it tried to establish and did whatever it wanted; I thought it followed them but am not sure what they were. Anyhow, this is about 1000x more creative and fun than No Way Home.

I saw Everything Everywhere All at Once a few weeks ago and also loved it. I definitely thought I detected some logical inconsistencies and/or wasn't 100% sure I understood what was going on at times but each of those moments I quickly decided not to care. Ricky and Morty is more creative with the multiverse stuff but this still had a fun spin on everything. Michelle Yeoh gives an A+ performance. Most importantly it gave my heartstrings a nice solid tug.

Also saw The Northman around the same time and thought it was good, not amazing. I prefer The Lighthouse for my tastes among the three major Eggers films but, whatever, they're all good and very finely made.

Watched the 3 hour directors cut of Doctor Sleep, the adaptation of the Stephen King novel and sequel to The Shining.

Holy crap, was this good. And dark as hell. Mike Flanagan (Midnight Mass) wrote and directed, and does a nice job of combing both King’s and Kubrick’s versions of The Shining. Rebecca Ferguson makes a scarily effective child-killing monster. And the finale in the Overlook Hotel was great.

This is definitely an underrated movie.

I enjoyed Doctor Sleep. Thought Doctor Sleep was one of the best sequels in recent time and especially in that genre.

Today I watched "Hell or High Water" for the first time. Amazing movie and really enjoyed it. I'm sure most on here have probably seen it already. No spoils but worth the watch. The whole time I was watching it I thought it was a Coen brother's movie for some reason but checking now it was directed by David Mackenzie and written by Taylor Sheridan. I'm going to have to back check these names on IMDB and see if they have any other hidden gems.

I don't really know if they count as "hidden gems", but Wind River and Sicario 1&2 by Sheridan are great. As for Mackenzie, I can't recommend Starred Up strongly enough, especially if you're a fan of the prison genre. Love that movie.

Read a few articles that The Northman was hanging around at the box office and was doing better than expected in the later weeks. Plus it’s doing very well in VOD. Still not going to be able to overcome the opening weekend flop but maybe it won’t be a total disaster.

Wind River is very good, and shows that two of the Avengers can actually act, outside of the CGI,

I liked the first Sicario but found the sequel really mediocre.

Doctor Strange 2 was basically a video game graphics designer's wet dream. Meh.

This would make a great video game for the System 6. At first that's what I thought it was.

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022 has great ratings. If you like to watch an unending barrages of three second shots for two hours where characters often change appearance and personality and sets change almost every time you will like this. Its like a super long music video on crack. If you keep this up your actors don't have to act though your movie editors will be overwhelmed. Buried in this bombardment of images might be a storyline about resolving the conflict of a mother with her young adult daughter. It could be told in a 30 minute tv drama but what's cool about that? Lets turn it into half-baked sci fi movie instead. If you can get by the mumbled voice of the father character, and make sense of the endless characters, and the giant bagel idea , and the sex toys thrown in for shock value you will like this film. I guess it was made to appeal to teens and young adults.
